▲ AFFIRMATION OF FAITH: (from the Confession of 1967, 9.32-33)

The life, death, resurrection, and promised coming of Jesus Christ has set the pattern for the church’s mis-

sion. His life as man involves the church in the common life of people. His service to humankind commits

the church to work for every form of human well-being. His suffering makes the church sensitive to all the

sufferings of humankind so that it sees the face of Christ in the faces of people in every kind of need. His

crucifixion discloses to the church God’s judgment on man’s inhumanity to humankind and the awful con-

sequences of its own complicity in injustice. In the power of the risen Christ and the hope of his coming,

the church sees the promise of God’s renewal of man’s life in society and of God’s victory over all wrong.

The church follows this pattern in the form of its life and in the method of its action. So to live and serve is

to confess Christ as Lord.

Responding to the Word Rev. Julie Jensen

▲ HYMN OF GRATITUDE: #606 “PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW”

Rev. Julie Jensen

Session has called a meeting of the congregation today, August 19th, at both services for the purpose

of receiving the report from the Nominating Committee and electing new Elders and Deacons.
