Protecting copyright: the law

The Digital Economy Act (2010) helps to protect copyright owners by stopping people from

sharing copyrighted materials such as music, videos and

games over the Internet.

The law also prevents people from downloading or distributing copyrighted materials without appropriate permission.

It requires you to find out how to acquire music legally and to take appropriate steps to ensure your computer

is not used for illegal file-sharing.
