Environmental Protection Agency that demands a reduction in carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides emitted by small, off-road gasoline engines will require changes in motor oil formula-tions. Other companies will set their sights on the minimum standards, solely to satisfy the EPA man-date. AMSOIL, on the other hand, will develop prod-ucts that excel in those applications, including outboard motors, lawn mowers, personal watercraft and all other non-road small engine equipment.

Similarly, and on an even larger scale, the ILSAC GF-5 passenger car motor oil specifi cation, which is scheduled for implementation in 2011 and is designed to help original equipment manufacturers meet EPA regulatory requirements, will require the development of more sophisticated motor oils. This works to the benefi t of AMSOIL. While other com-panies may struggle within the confi nes of their cost/profi t restraints, AMSOIL will develop formulations that exceed GF-5 specifi cations and maintain AMSOIL standards. We will continue to work closely with our suppliers and select only those technologies that yield the absolute best results in terms of quality and performance.

It doesn’t matter what the challenge is. Whether it’s a regulation imposed by a government agency, a performance issue encountered through equipment design or an obstacle kicked up by an unstable econ-omy, AMSOIL will remain on track. And Dealers can be assured that AMSOIL will continue to provide those components that are absolutely essential to creating and maintaining a highly profi table busi-ness opportunity.

First and foremost is the high quality of our prod-ucts. Beyond that is the stability of this company. Any potential AMSOIL Dealer can look at our long-standing stability and determine immediately that the business opportunity we provide offers real, absolute potential. Second, we make no outrageous promises, but can guarantee that hard work and dedication can translate directly to Dealer success. Finally, is training. Whether through our website, printed materials, AMSOIL University, personal con-tact with corporate staff members or any other resource we provide, any Dealer has access to the education necessary to succeed in his or her AMSOIL business.

As we look ahead now to 2010, I can confi dently say to all Dealers that the only real limitations they have are those they create for themselves. This com-pany will continue to grow, and we can all look forward to another challenging, yet successful year.

2 AMSOIL ACTION NEWS / JANUARY 2010

A. J. “Al” AmatuzioPresident and CEO, AMSOIL INC.

This past year, like most years, was unpredictable in many respects, yet predictable in others. The econ-omy, of course, continued to affect virtually all cat-egories of business, and AMSOIL was no exception. I am happy to report, however, that the company continued to grow in 2009 and we remain strong, stable and on the move. You can expect more of the same in 2010.

In terms of products, we will maintain full throt-tle on our research and development. At any one time at AMSOIL we have up to a dozen products under review that may or may not ultimately be developed. Careful analysis is done on each to deter-mine its marketability. Performance levels, pricing, potential markets and many other variables are scru-tinized to determine a product’s feasibility. The ulti-mate goal, as always, is to develop products that bring benefits to consumers and profits to our Dealers. This we will do.

As the lubricant industry becomes increasingly more complicated with the addition of more regula-tions, service classifi cations and equipment refi ne-ments, AMSOIL will remain at the cutting edge. Our willingness and ability to adopt new technologies and push performance parameters to the limit set us apart from other companies. For example, an emission policy recently passed down by the

AMSOIL P.i. Gains Mileage, Fans at Florida Bike Shop

Evil Twin Motorcycles in Florida is an AMSOIL retail-on-the-shelf account registered by Direct Jobbers George and Lea Collins of Winter Park, Fla.

“We have been using AMSOIL synthetic motor oils, Severe Gear Synthetic Gear Lubes and greases for about four or fi ve years,” said Lisa Richmond, owner of the motorcycle shop. “We have been sat-isfi ed with these products, so when our Dealers George and Lea Collins showed us AMSOIL P.i., we were more than eager to try it.

“When the AMSOIL P.i. arrived, one of our very good customers was getting an AMSOIL service on his motorcycle,” Richmond said. “He volunteered to test the new product in his motorcycle.”

Because the customer was about to travel from Florida to Texas, he was a prime candidate to test AMSOIL P.i. The gasoline in the motorcycle was treated according to directions, and during the course of the 3,800-mile trip, the customer was thrilled to experience a double-digit fuel economy increase.

“Upon returning, we told him he was ready for another treatment because the product lasts approximately 4,000 miles,” Richmond said. “He was more than willing to purchase a bottle and loves the product.”

Richmond has found AMSOIL products outperform other brands.“We have had a lot of products come through our door claiming to do what

AMSOIL products have done. To date, no other products have worked so efficiently. Thank you, AMSOIL, for living up to your name and continu-ally producing products that do exactly what you claim they will do.”

Richmond’s mechanic, Bill Beaumont, was instrumental in bringing AMSOIL products to Evil Twin.

“Bill is the driving force behind AMSOIL products being in that shop,” said Lea Collins. “He just loves AMSOIL. Every shop should have a mechanic like Bill.”

Grease-related maintenance on off-road equip-ment is labor intensive and requires a thorough knowledge of complete equipment lubrication requirements, while neglect or improper greas-ing can lead to poor equipment performance, unnecessary maintenance expenses and down-time. AMSOIL Dealers armed with a detailed understanding of grease-related suffering points and the benefi ts of AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease can successfully address cus-tomer concerns and increase grease sales.

Maintenance-Related Suffering Points• Diffi cult zerk (grease fi tting) locations • Operator neglect • Minimal standards for grease lubrication

intervals• Proper grease selection

Zerks and Neglect There are dozens of zerks on a variety of heavy-duty applications. Many zerk fi ttings are not only diffi cult to locate, but diffi cult to grease, even for expe-rienced maintenance personnel. A multitude of hard-to-locate fi ttings presents serious potential for missed grease points, causing drastic increases in component wear that can lead to component failure and equipment downtime. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease provides the extra level of protection necessary to help overcome the problems associated with missed grease points and skipped lubrication intervals, staying in place longer and providing better lubrication for extended periods. By providing a safety margin for when grease points are missed, AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease allows extended equipment life and peace of mind, even during severe-service operation. In addition, AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease is formulated with 5 percent molyb-denum disulfi de (moly) for an extra level of protection, actively separating metal components when lubrication intervals are skipped.

Lubrication IntervalsStandard original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-recommended greasing intervals fail to consider unique circumstances such as extreme service, company main-tenance procedures or environmental conditions. Similar to automotive OEM-recommended oil drain intervals, recommended off-road equipment grease intervals do not consider the use of high-quality products such as AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease, which can safely extend lubrication intervals. Although following OEM guidelines is typically a good start for developing proper maintenance procedures, unique circumstances can alter interval requirements signifi cantly.

Grease SelectionUse of greases with incompatible thick-ening systems can result in severe equip-ment wear as certain incompatibilities can cause hardening or softening of grease in equipment components, jeop-ardizing protection. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease incorporates a calcium-sulfonate complex thickener, which is compatible with nearly all major thickener types, including lithium-complex thick-ened greases. For a complete grease compatibility chart, see the AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease Product One Voice, available in the AMSOIL Dealer Zone under “Other Downloads.”

Operational Suffering Points • Grease pound-out• Water washout• Dirt and contaminant ingress

Pound-Out ResistanceThe repetitive pounding action of everyday operation puts severe strain on equipment pivot points, causing inferior greases to pound out of place. When pound-out occurs, there is no base oil to provide proper separation of metal components, leading to increased wear, and no seal to keep water and abrasive contaminants out, lead-ing to rust, corrosion, pitting and component failure. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease effectively resists pound-out and keeps equipment properly lubricated during extreme-pressure shock-loading and high-impact operation. The AMSOIL Impact Simulator (G2713) can be used to effectively measure a grease’s pound-out resistance. See back cover for more information or see the video demonstration at www.amsoil.com.

Water Washout and Contaminant IngressGrease in heavy equipment is often subjected to envi-ronmental contaminants, including water. When inferior grease is exposed to water, it presents major potential for washout, or grease washing off the equipment components. This not only increases metal-to-metal contact and wear, but also the potential for rust and corrosion. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease has exceptional adhesion and cohesion properties, allowing it to remain in place during wet operation and cleaning. It also provides one of the best water washout test (ASTM D1264) values in the industry (1%), effectively protecting metal components from the harmful effects of water contamination.

By providing superior sealing ability, AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease also overcomes problems created

through contaminant ingress, actively deterring abrasive contaminants from entering pivot joints and providing better seal protection, maximizing equipment life.

AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease is designed to provide superior lubrication, protection and extended service intervals for virtually all off-road

equipment grease points, including heavily-loaded pivot points, bushings, articulation points, machine implements, universal joints, driveline grease points, equipment wheel bearings and other grease-lubricated components. The following pictures present the greas-ing requirements for a typical backhoe application.

OEM recommendation: Lubricate backhoe arm, stick, bucket, cyl-inder bearings and linkage every 10 hours.

OEM recommendation: Lubricate loader bucket pivot and linkage every 10 hours.

OEM recommendation: Lubricate axle universal joints and kingpin bearings every 250 hours.

OEM recommendation: Lubricate swing frame every 10 hours.

OEM recommendation: Lubricate stabilizer bearings and cylinder every 10-50 hours.

10 AMSOIL ACTION NEWS / JANUARY 2010

The NPD Group’s Automotive Aftermarket Industry Monitor, which tracks commercial sales at the point-of-sale for over 18,000 auto parts stores in the U.S., released a report demonstrating that consumers favor name-brand lubricants over private-label offerings. The report, entitled “Selling Automotive Products in Tough Economic Times,” found that 56 percent of consumers view name-brand motor oils as higher quality than store brands, while 38 percent see no difference and 6 percent view private-label oils as better than name brands.

Name Recognition Equates to QualityThe report’s statistics indicate that most people associate name recognition with quality. People feel more comfort-able buying a product they’ve heard of because it helps validate their purchasing decision.

“If all those other people like it, it must be the best.”

Unfortunately for many consumers, that isn’t always the case. While well-recognized brands of motor oil usually provide adequate protection, their popularity is often due more to high-budget ad campaigns than to product performance.

AMSOIL INC. Marketing Creating Widespread RecognitionWhile AMSOIL does not enjoy the same brand recognition as many national brands, awareness is on the rise and the entire Dealer network stands to profi t. In order to increase brand awareness and help Dealers increase sales, AMSOIL sponsors high-profi le racers and events and places advertisements in national publications that reach the company’s target audience. This strategy has served the company well. Third-party surveys and any long-time Dealer will confi rm that the AMSOIL name is recognized by far more people now than it was fi ve years ago. Thanks to the exposure generated by nationally-televised AMSOIL-sponsored races and large events like the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Daytona Bike Week, the days of Dealers meeting prospects who haven’t heard of AMSOIL or synthetic oil are fading fast.

Price is EverythingBut what about the 38 percent of consumers in the NPD report who see no difference between name-brand and

private-label oils? While many consumers base purchas-ing decisions on perceived quality or popularity, many others choose products solely on perceived value. They want the product that will cost them the least amount of money. That is one reason why, in spite of consumers’ perceptions of quality, private-label dollar volume increased by 8.8 percent from April 2008 to April 2009.

“The recession has clearly focused consumers on value,” said David Portalatin, industry analyst for NPD’s auto unit. “The lower prices often offered by private-label brands are a compelling offer for consumers looking for ways to cut back.”

AMSOIL Products Offer Maximum ValueThe initial price of AMSOIL motor oil can deter value-minded consumers, but that is exactly why AMSOIL adopted the MLM business model. AMSOIL Dealers are there to explain how AMSOIL products save money through extended drain intervals, reduced maintenance costs and longer equipment life. Once armed with the facts, it’s easy to see the cost savings afforded by AMSOIL products.

AMSOIL: Premium Quality, Maximum ValueAMSOIL products deliver a level of protection and per-formance high enough to meet the demands of the most discerning of enthusiasts. Incredible cold-temperature performance, superior shear strength and excellent resis-tance to volatility make AMSOIL motor oils fi rst in the minds of many consumers who are passionate about their vehicles. These same features also deliver the ben-efi ts that value-driven consumers are looking for. AMSOIL motor oils last longer and provide better protection than other oils, saving motorists money by helping reduce oil and maintenance costs while increasing performance and vehicle life.

The NPD report affi rms that lubricant consumers defi ne value differently and base purchasing decisions on varying factors. AMSOIL products offer the rare combination of premium quality and maximum value, providing AMSOIL Dealers with the opportunity to reach both value- and quality-minded consumers.

Increased Brand Awareness Brings Increased Dealer Sales

AMSOIL ACTION NEWS / JANUARY 2010 11

Fuel Filters Fuel Filters Require Regular Require Regular ServiceService Fuel fi lters today appear signifi cantly different from those used in the past, but their purpose remains the same: to protect the fuel system by removing con-taminants such as rust, dirt and other foreign matter from the fuel. Stricter emissions legislation, higher injection pressures and ultra-low sulfur and biodiesel fuels have all contributed to the evolution of fuel system technology. The fuel fi lter is often overlooked in terms of regular maintenance.

Purpose of Fuel FiltersInternal combustion engines consume a mixture of fuel and air to produce energy. The most commonly used fuels are gasoline and diesel fuel.

Older gasoline engines use a carburetor that mixes the fuel and air in exact proportions for effi cient carbu-retion. It has many small passageways and delicate parts which can be damaged by dirt. A dirty carburetor can cause erratic performance or complete engine shutdown.

Carbureted engines have been replaced with electronic fuel injec-tion (EFI) systems. Fuel injection is a much simpler, more pre-cise way to deliver fuel to the cylinders.

Gasoline and diesel engines normally use a fuel injector for each cylinder. The injector meters the fuel under high pressure through small openings in the tip and into the combustion chamber. A supply pump supplies fuel to each injector. High operating pressures and tight clear-ances make the injectors vulnerable to damage and wear when exposed to dirt and contaminants. The key to keeping a fuel system operating at its best is clean-liness.

Types and Sources of ContaminantsContaminants may enter the fuel system when unfi l-tered fuel is pumped into the vehicle tank or through loose tank caps or faulty sealing gaskets. Fuel can also be compromised by contaminants or dirt particles left in the tanks or lines during the manufacturing and assembly process. The most common contaminants found in fuel are rust, dirt and water.

Rust usually comes from large storage tanks, but can also form in vehicle tanks if low fuel levels are left in the tanks over long periods of time. Rust is an abrasive and causes damage to the injection system components.

The most common source for water is condensation in the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is not kept fi lled, warm moisture-laden air condenses on the cooler inside metal wall of the fuel tank. Water can also enter the fuel in underground storage tanks, during vehicle tank fi lling on wet, rainy days, or through leakage past fuel tank fi ller caps and improperly-designed vent openings.

Dirt can fi nd its way into the fuel through dirty caps, tank spouts and dispensing nozzles. Vent systems, tank caps and other seals should be checked frequently to ensure they are in good condition and none are miss-ing. Another contaminant sometimes found in diesel fuel is bacteria.

Types of Fuel FiltersThere are numerous types of fuel fi lters for gasoline and diesel applications, including in-line, element/cartridge and spin-on.

In-line fi lters are located in the fuel line between the tank and injectors or carburetors.

Element/cartridge filters require installation into some type of housing in the vehicle fuel system. These fi lters are often neglected due to lack of consumer knowledge of the location and the inaccessibility of the fi lter.

Spin-on fuel fi lters are similar to oil fi lters. They are easy to replace and come in a variety of sizes.

Some automobiles and light trucks have two fuel fi lters. The fi rst fi lter, usually located in the fuel tank,

can be made of fi ne woven fabric or other fi lter mediums. This fi lter prevents large pieces of

contaminant from damaging the fuel pump. The tank fi lter also prevents most water from going to the engine. Under normal conditions,

the tank fi lter will not require ser-vice or replacement, however the second

fi lter requires regular service.Gasoline and diesel engines are very

sensitive and will not tolerate dirty fuel. The most delicate part of a diesel engine is the fuel injection system. Injectors have moving parts with very close tolerances, and small particles of contaminant can damage them or cause erratic performance.

Servicing Fuel FiltersFuel fi lters should be changed at intervals recom-mended by the engine or equipment manufacturer. When operating under more adverse conditions or with very dirty fuel, the fi lters may need to be changed more frequently. Replacing fuel fi lters at the recommended intervals is the best assurance against engine problems and fuel starvation.

Filters Available From AMSOILAMSOIL currently offers a full line of fuel fi lters from WIX, Mann-Filter and Donaldson. Reinforcing the importance of regular fuel fi lter service not only keeps customers’ cars in prime condition, it is a good way to add to regular sales of oil and air fi lters.

Diesel Cold Flow ImproverAMSOIL Diesel Cold Flow Improver maintains fuel fl ow in low temperature applications below 40°F, effectively modifying wax crystal formation at low temperatures to depress diesel fuel pour point and improve cold fl ow filtration properties. Cold Flow Improver lowers the cold fi lter plug-ging point by as much as 20°F and

decreases the need for #1 diesel fuel diluted with kerosene, and it contains jet fuel-type deicer to

help prevent ice formation in fuels contaminated with wate r. Co ld F low Improver is compatible

with diesel particulate fi lters (DPFs).

Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver

AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver is a premium, year-round diesel fuel additive that provides improved effi ciency and maximum cold-weather perform ance by combining the superior detergency and lubricity of Diesel Concentrate with the excellent anti-gelling properties of

Cold Flow Improver in one convenient package without sac-rifi cing performance.

Diesel RecoveryAMSOIL Diesel Recovery is an emer-gency cold weather treatment that quickly and effectively dissolves the wax crystals that form when diesel fuel surpasses its cloud point. It effectively liquefi es gelled diesel fuel, thaws frozen fuel fi lters and reduces the need for a new filter, saving money and allowing the operator to continue driving with minimal down-time. Diesel Recovery is alcohol-free,

non-corrosive and performs well in all diesel fuels, including ULSD, off-road and biodiesel.

AMSOIL INC. will host its annual AMSOIL University (AU) May 16-20, 2010 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC).

“Any Dealer who is even remotely serious about build-ing his or her business should come to AU,” said Steve LePage, Western Regional Sales Manager and AU chair-man. “It’s a tremendous investment in your future.”

AMSOIL University is the premier AMSOIL event of the year. Dealers of all levels come to Duluth-Superior from all over North America to increase their knowledge of AMSOIL products, build sales and presentation skills and gain insight into market trends and opportunities. There’s also plenty of good food, entertainment and time to get to know other Dealers during the four-day event.

AMSOIL has again reserved a block of rooms at the Holiday Inn Waterfront. The hotel is located on the skywalk system that puts Dealers a short, indoor walk away from the DECC.

As in years past, AMSOIL U includes three course tracks for Dealers of various levels.

Core Technology Program Prerequisites: NoneCoursework focus: Administration, Lubrication I and II, Filtration I and II, Sales I and II, Engine Oils, Drivetrain Fluids, Greases and Fuel Additives.

This track is recommended for fi rst-time attendees. It is the foundational information on which to build confi -dence and understanding of an AMSOIL business.

Business Development ProgramPrerequisites: Must have attended an AMSOIL University Core Technology Program, a C&F or CAT school or have suffi cient fi eld experience.Coursework focus: Small Business Commercial Appl icat ions, Commercial Sales, Personal Administration, Service, Oil Analysis, Two-Cycle Lubricants and Grease.

Advanced Development ProgramPrerequisites: Must have attained Direct Jobber status. Previous completion of the Core Technology Program and Business Development Program is highly recommended.Coursework focus: The Advanced Development Program focuses on opportunities for established Direct Jobbers, including market trends, promotional ideas,

advanced technical updates and opportunities to share ideas with AMSOIL corporate staff.

Daily ForumsEveryone who attends AU will have access to daily forums where they will learn from corporate staff mem-bers about new AMSOIL products, aftermarket prod-ucts and trends in the industry.

“AMSOIL University always provides a unique chal-lenge,” LePage said. “We’ve raised the bar every year and it’s challenging to keep raising the bar — to make it bigger and better than the year before.”

While the training Dealers receive at the event is invaluable, planners also strive to guarantee enough social opportunities for Dealers to interact with corpo-rate staff members and network with one another. “We want to make it fun as well as educational,” LePage said.

Those fun times include the Sunday social welcom-ing event, the Tuesday night cookout and tours of the AMSOIL Center.

“The Tuesday cookout is one of our best events,” LePage said. “It’s an opportunity for the Dealers to get together with staff members for a nice meal, and they get to see fi rsthand how big the company actually is. That’s a real motivator for the Dealers. They see AMSOIL is growing and is immensely successful.”

Product RebateAnother great benefi t is the 10 percent rebate Dealers receive during the week. All AMSOIL Dealers attending AMSOIL University are eligible for a 10 percent rebate on one complete product order placed during the week. Orders may be picked up at the AMSOIL Center during the week, or may be shipped to the Dealer. To qualify for the rebate, orders must be placed the week of AMSOIL U.

Early Registration DiscountDealers interested in attending AU 2010 can receive an early registration discount of $50 until March 1, 2010.

Before March 1, 2010 — Enrollment Cost (per Dealer) $397Spouse Attending: $196Spouse attending only lunches and social events: $50

The AMSOIL Offshore Racing Team of Bob Teague and Paul Whittier wrapped up the SBI/APBA World Championship in Key West, Fla., taking the win at the 29th annual event by defeating the All Jack’d Up team.

Team AMSOIL enjoyed an incredible season of success in 2009, sweeping all the possible cham-pionships available to them in several sanctioning bodies. In addition to the SBI/APBA World Championship, Teague and Whittier also earned the 2009 High Points Championships in the Offshore Super Series, Triple Crown and OPA series.

“This season has been a true testament to AMSOIL,” said Teague. “Their support has been phenomenal. We’re going to bring these Mercury 525’s in for an end-of-the-year looksee and they’ll be just as powerful in 2010 thanks to AMSOIL Dominator 15W-50 Racing Oil.”

The AMSOIL #77 boat will be receiving some body repair work before the 2010 racing season begins in March.

Team AMSOIL Starts Snocross Season Strong at

AMSOIL Duluth NationalOriginally scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend, but postponed due to warm tempera-tures, the 2009-2010 AMSOIL Championship Snocross Series season kicked off on the weekend of December 11-13 with the AMSOIL Duluth National in Duluth, Minn.

After suffering a broken hip in last year’s Winter X Games that prematurely ended his season, Team AMSOIL/Judnick Motorsports racer Ross Martin was healthy and eager to get back on the track. He got off to a good start in the Pro Open fi nal, pushed past

the fi eld and settled into second place behind leader Tucker Hibbert. Although he was gaining ground on Hibbert, he ran out of time before he could make the pass and took the second place podium. Meanwhile, new Team AMSOIL/Scheuring Speed Sports racer Robbie Malinoski grabbed the hole shot and battled up front with the leaders before fi nish-ing fourth.

In the Pro Super Stock fi nal, Martin moved through the fi eld from the back row to take fi fth, while Malinoski made a brilliant move to pass Brett Bender for the third position, but encountered some bad luck as his jacket sleeve got caught on Bender’s sled and caused his sled to tip. From there, some gas leaked onto the brake pads and started a fi re, ending Malinoski’s bid for a podium fi nish.

Team AMSOIL/Judnick Motorsports semi-pro rider Mike Bauer had a very successful weekend, taking the win in the Semi-Pro Super Stock 1 class and following it up with a third place podium in the Super Stock 2 class.

Ross Martin earned two top 5 fi nishes at the AMSOIL Duluth National, including a second place podium in the Pro Open class.

Robbie Malinoski made his Team AMSOIL debut at the AMSOIL Duluth National and took a fourth place fi nish in the Pro Open class.

Mike Bauer (center) earned two podi-ums, including a fi rst place podium in the Semi-Pro Super Stock 1 class.

AMSOIL and Circle Track magazine have partnered for the AMSOIL Great American Circle Track Tour. The four-year tour will see Circle Track Senior Tech Editor Bob Bolles travel to various race venues across the country, including both local race tracks and prestigious special events such as the Dream at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway, where he will interact with racing teams, drivers and fans to promote grass roots racing, discuss current trends in racing technol-ogy and build sponsor awareness among the hardcore racing community.

During the fi rst year of the AMSOIL Great American Circle Track Tour, Bolles will travel to 25 race tracks throughout the Southeastern United States; he will cover other areas of the country in subsequent years. Each stop will be pre-arranged with track owners and pro-

moters, ensuring the maximum possible exposure through advance announcements, local publicity and press releases. Bolles will meet with the racers to talk shop, discuss issues important to racing and distribute sponsor information, literature and promotional items. The tour will be thoroughly covered in a series of Circle Track magazine articles, as well as blogs and web exclusive articles at www.circletrack.com.

The AMSOIL Impact Simulator effectively measures a grease’s pound-out resistance, using compressed air to generate a controlled amount of force delivered from a metal rod. The sample grease is placed on a metal stand, enclosed in a clear plastic sleeve and placed in the impact zone. The operator simply pushes a button and the metal rod slams down into the grease. The Impact Simulator can be calibrated to deliver a speci-fi ed amount of force, making it a safe, accurate dem-onstration of pound-out resistance properties.

This impressive demonstration dramatically proves that, under heavy loads, AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease stays in place to provide excellent protection and maintains its seal to prevent contami-nants from penetrating wearprone areas. Similar to the regular extreme impact faced by greased components of heavy-duty equipment, the Impact Simulator puts AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease’s supe-rior adhesion and cohesion properties clearly on dis-play. While competitive greases explode from the impact zone after one shot, AMSOIL Off-Road Grease remains intact after several shots.

Because AMSOIL INC. covers over half the cost of the Impact Simulator, it is available to Dealers

at a special price.
