• 康 熙七年六月十七日戍刻，．．．余适客稷下，方与表兄李笃之对烛饮，忽闻有声如雷，自东南来，向西北去，众骇异，不解其故。俄而几案摆酒簸，酒杯倾覆，屋 梁椽柱，错析有声。相顾失色。久之，方知地震，各疾趋出。见楼阁房舍，仆而复起，墙倾屋塌之声，与儿啼女号，喧如鼎沸。人眩晕不能立，坐地上，随地转侧。 河水倾泼丈余，鸡鸣犬吠满城中。 一时许，始稍定。视街上，则男女裸聚，竟相舌语，并忘其衣也。后闻某处井倾仄，不可汲；某家楼台南北易向；枉霞山裂；沂 水陷穴，广数亩。此真非常这奇变也。

但是这些你都没见到，有一个我叫做“救命的十秒钟”。在大的地震来临之前，你首先感觉到的不是震动，而是听到地底下的声音，从地下来的声音。如果你听到地 下有汽车开过去的声音，那就是有感地震，不用担心。如果你听到地下是坦克车、拖拉机的声音，就是中等的地震。如果有抗震的房屋也不用担心。如果听到地下是 狂风巨作、狮子、老虎，野兽的吼叫声、大树的折断声，如果有这种声音，就是在你附近要发生 7级以上地震的信号。这个信号，大的震动之间大概就是 10秒钟左 右。这 10秒钟里，如果住在平房里面的人就可以马上出来，10秒钟 20米也能出来。

de. If you're outside, stay outside. • If you're indoors, stand against a wall

near the center of the building, stand in a doorway, or crawl under heavy furniture (a desk or table). Stay away from windows and outside doors.

• If you're outdoors, stay in the open away from power lines or anything that might fall. Stay away from buildings (stuff might fall off the building or the building could fall on you).

• Don't use matches, candles, or any flame. Broken gas lines and fire don't mix.

• If you're in a car, stop the car and stay inside the car until the earthquake stops.

• Don't use elevators (they'll probably get stuck anyway).

• Turn on the radio. Don't use the phone unless it's an emergency.

• Stay out of damaged buildings. • Be careful around broken glass and debris. Wear

boots or sturdy shoes to keep from cutting your feet.

• Be careful of chimneys (they may fall on you). • Stay away from beaches. Tsunamis and seiches

sometimes hit after the ground has stopped shaking.

• Stay away from damaged areas. • If you're at school or work, follow the emergency

plan or the instructions of the person in charge. • Expect aftershocks.
