ABOUT Members of the Southern Kingfish Association are some of the most active and influential consumers in the saltwater fishing market to date. They’re extremely loyal and passionate, and embrace every aspect of their sport. Involvement within the SKA provides anglers with a variety of communication outlets to keep them updated, and continuously on the pulse of their sport. 1 MEMBERSHIPThe Southern Kingfish Association delivers a reliable, sanctioning body to the sport of competitive King Mackerel fishing. 90% of SKA members last year renewed their membership. Average tenure is 7 years, with over 20% membership base being involved in the SKA for over 12 years. This trust is a primary reason the SKA is such a valuable platform for corporate partners to connect with anglers time and time again.
Membership runs on an annual basis, from January 1 to December 31. Every year anglers receive a welcome kit which includes a member card, SKA decal, information about the current Tournament Trail, custom introductions to the SKA’s endorsed partners, and instructions on how to access all of the additional benefits the association has to offer.
The SKA Membership is advertised in both regional and national publications, online markets, and through SKA’s own ANGLER magazine distribution locations across the Southeast.
The SKA sanctions as average of 40 tournaments annually. Events are spread
amongst ten regional divisions between the months of January and November, and daily participation ranges from 150 to 1,000+ anglers and spectators. In addition to product demonstration
options, literature distribution and logo inclusion on banners and signage, these
events offer excellent on-site engagement opportunities for participating partners.

The official publication of the Southern Kingfish Association, ANGLER Magazine is the hands-on communication platform for the SKA Tournament Trail. Publishing 11 issues each year, ANGLER features tournament recaps, relative articles, product news and industry updates. It is directly mailed to every

In addition to the Tournament Trail, the SKA operates a Professional Tour that
coincides with the 2016 schedule. This highly competitive series consists of nine tournaments: four events in the Northern SKA divisional regions and four events in the South, with one final Championship event* in the Fall. An estimated 60 teams will participate in the 2016 Tour. Live webcasts, professional video coverage, and custom staging and signage help to deliver additional industry exposure to the Professional Tour endorsed partners.
