Our cabins are clean and cozy with firm beds. We have different types of cabins. One type is a log cabin that is one room with four double beds, a table and chairs and airconditioning refridgerators. This type of Canadian nostalgic cabin is unique in that they are hand peeled logs and built by Dr. Eseintrout himself. With quilts and rugs they are very homey and have a lot of charm.

Then we have the large 2 bedroom cabins with full bathrooms and a screened in porch. These cabins have have six to twelve beds. They are more of a cottage type than the traditional log cabin. You will find them very roomy for large groups.

We also have the duplex cabins which are nice for parties of 2 to 3 people per side. They have a bedroom with a front room and are very comfortable for the beautiful Canadian nights. These cabins have a full bathroom.

With our growing business, we have continued to makeimprovements throughout the camp. We now have over 900’ of docking space available. Each spot comes with a power outlet for charging batteries right in your boat. You don’t have to take them out and haul them at Witch Bay. Just plug them in at

the dock and forget it. In the morning your batteries will be at 100%. You will be assigned a parking spot at arrival, and this will be your spot during your stay. Our dock-hands help you launch, park, and fuel your boat upon request. You just get in and go fish. And if you bring fish in to take home, our experienced crew will filet, wrap, and freeze them for you. All part of the dock service, the Witch Bay Difference.

All boats feature two Lowrance depthfinders, 80-pound thrust Minn-kota bow mount electric motors, built-in battery chargers, electric start, carpeting, power trim, live wells, dry storage, rod racks and deluxe pedestal seats. These boats are powered by quiet and smooth-running four cycle Yamahas. Smooth as silk, you can go forward or back troll these rigs with maximum precision to keep you on fish. So be sure to reserve your deluxe camp boat, when you make a reservation!

According to the Walleye Assessment Manager of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Tom Mosindy, the walleye population is in the best condition of the last twenty five years. Many of our guests are boating big numbers with many good sized fish caught and released. The improvement is due to the almost complete elimination of gill netting and the angler’s catch and release ethic. In Fisherman Magazine has rated Lake of the Woods the top ten walleye waters of North America Not only are there good numbersof fish, but due to a diverse and healthy forage base, world class trophies are caught regularly.

Northern Pike fishing offers good numbers and a chance at a real trophy.Weed lines, points, and humps produce throughout the season. Spoons, spinner baits, muskie lures, and almost anything else produce well. Lake of the Woods offers some of North America’s best northern and walleye fishing. Last year, forty inch fish were quite common with one of our guests scoring two in the same day.

There is a smallmouth bass boom going on in North America, and centered in the heart of that boom is Lake of the Woods. Lindner rates it in his top five smallmouth waters. This is evidenced by his continual presence in the Kenora Bass Invitational. The best bass waters are right at our front door. Smallmouth bass are doing very well in both numbers and size. This prized fighter has done very well in our area. Many of our guests love to spend time chasing old bronzeback. Ninety nine percent of those caught are released. These fish can be caught in good numbers throughout the season. Crankbaits, plastics, minnow baits, and a jig and live bait are popular presentations.

The good old days of muskie fishing are right now. Lake of the Woods, according to such experts as Al Lindner and Gord Pyzer ranks as the best muskie water in the world. It has been stated that there are more muskies in the Woods than all the other lakes put together.
