3.1
Dr. B.V. Patil, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, UAS, Raichur In connection with the subsidy scheme under farm mechanization, there is provision to avail the Paddy transplanting machine along with 80 trays. The mechanization component under NFSM scheme may be linked to the farmers.
(Action: All SMS)
Contacted state Dept. and we are facilitating the progressive farmer to avail the benefit
To prepare a booklet on success stories of farmers and prepare video CDs on successful farmers.
(Action: All SMS)
The success stories are published regularly in e-news letter and also a compendium of farm innovators to be published by publication center UAS, Raichur
Prepare soil fertility maps of Raichur by utilizing the data so far analysed and collect the samples from problematic fields and prepare the database.
(Action: SMS – Soil Science)
The database preparation is under progress and depiction of fertility status could be made in the form of Pie diagram since the samples are not geo-referenced.
The establishment of market / sales outlet proposed to be established at KVK may be linked to the HOPCOMS and sales outlet of processing centre of the campus
(Action: SMS –Home Science)
Market linkage for the SHGs produce is being planned at the commercial complex of UAS, Raichur
Post evaluation of training, the rate of adoption and follow up of activity by the farmers need to be documented.
(Action: SMS – Ag. Extension)
Documentation under progress it will be presented in the SAC meeting
3.2
Dr. M.J. Chandregouda, Principal Scientist, ZPD Zone VIII, ICAR, Bengaluru
The Horticulture component has to be considered as one of the major thrust areas in the action plan and routine programs of KVK.
(Action: SMS-Horticuture)
The burning issues pertaining to horticulture sector in Raichur district are bacterial blight of pomegranate, purple blotch of Onion Demonstration programmes are formulated as per these issues.

Major Recommendations Status of action taken in brief
Agronomic interventions need to be focused on weed, water, pest and disease management in DSR in Paddy.
(Action: SMS-Agronomy)
An advantage of DSR over the transplanting technique is being addressed through FLD, OFT, On & Off campus trainings, Group Discussions, Radio Talks on various issues of DSR. KVK Staff is also involved in promotion of DSR technology by UAS, Raichur
Assessment on incidence of insect pests in TS-3R Redgram cultivar to be initiated.
(Action: SMS-Agronomy)
Data on pest incidence on TS-3R variety has been collected from 6 villages and it will be presented during SAC meeting. During field visits, farmers were advised on corrective measures for control of leaf webber and pod borer.
SMS – Agronomy, Extension and Home Science can jointly take up activity of analyzing the impact of TS-3R adoption in Muranpur on economic status of families, cooking quality, consumer preference and market preference.
Under progress
Data has to be generated in respect of Bajra + Redgram cropping system and sole cropping of Redgram. Similar efforts in Redgram + Cotton cropping system also.
Action: (SMS-Agronomy)
Data on Redgram + Bajra intercropping system has been generated through FLD conducted at G. Hanumapur and it will be presented during SAC meeting. Redgram + Cotton intercropping system is not being followed in Raichur district.
For effective crop management, the leveling of land may be added as a component under demonstrations.
Conducted on leveled land only
To adopt the activities followed at KVK Dharwad to strengthen the horticulture.
(Action: SMS-Horticulture)
KVK Dharwad received external funds for Horticulture Development. KVK Raichur also has submitted proposals to NHB and NHM scheme under the State Department of Horticulture. Right now project funded by the State Department of Horticulture namely “Establishment of small nursery for medicinal plants”. Shade net house has been contracted and infrastructures are being created. Propagation of Horticulture crops would be taken up in the ensuing year.
The technical staff at KVK should target their activities towards generating entrepreneurship in agriculture, horticulture and animal husbandry activities rather than involving themselves in production activities.
(Action: All SMS)
The activities of each discipline are integrated in IFS farms identified by KVK

Along with data on soil test, the information on fertilizer recommendation may be provided to farmers.
Based on farmers requirement it is being adopted.
Crop based nutrient management charts for different talukas may be prepared.
(Action: SMS – Soil Science)
Fertilizer recommendation sheet is prepared for five talukas of Raichur district for the major field crops based on status of existing soil fertility.
Betel vine orchards need to be rejuvenated with suitable methods. (Action: Programme Coordinator)
Not being done, it will be attempted ensuing season
