September 30, 2013 Super Service Challenge 1.) We served at Shepherd Community Center by helping to provide and prepare breakfast for those coming on Saturday morning. This included setup and cleanup from the breakfast. 2.) The Saturday morning breakfast was a piece of our ongoing relationship with Shepherd. I took a small group of adults and students downtown this summer to help with their summer school option. We stayed for a week and volunteered with different age groups. Zionsville Presbyterian Church is looking to plug in with Shepherd as a whole and the youth definitely wants to be part of that. Our next step is to help out with tutoring that takes place on a regular basis. We are figuring out a time where our group can go and serve at least once a month. Shepherd also is looking to partner with us. The entirety of ZPC went for a Sunday morning service to Shepherd in the summer. Now I think Shepherd is looking for a time when they can come here. 3.) (I don’t know if you are talking about Shepherd or ZPC so I will answer for both). I think if Shepherd Community Center won the money they would take some leaps and bounds in the fight against the cycle of poverty from the family vantage point. They could offer more programming to families on a year-around basis. Maybe this money could even consist of some serious college scholarships for those going off to school. If ZPC won part of the money we would utilize the money for our overall budget. We are little behind and the money could help makeup that difference. Any money left over we might use for a church-wide celebration!
