Archiving strategy

• The Zarafa archiver can be used for two purposes:– Reducing storage on primary server and eliminating pst files

– Keep history on all incoming and outgoing emails

• Choose the strategy before further deploying the Zarafa Archiver

Creating of archiver store

• Every user who will use the Zarafa Archiver need to be coupled to an archive mailbox.

• Multiple users can be coupled to one archive mailbox or every user can get a own archive mailbox

• Create a new non-active user called archive with the zarafa-admin tool

Couple user to archive mailbox

• Couple the user John to the archive mailbox with the zarafa-archiver command

• Please use the --no-folder option when coupling every user to a individual archive mailbox

• By default the user will have read-only permissions on his archive! Please use the -w option to give an user “Owner” permissions on his archive store.

Where to get it?

• The Zarafa-Archiver can be downloaded from the Zarafa Portal only at the moment

• To use the Archiver an additional subscription is required. This subscription allows you to have a cluster with a Zarafa-server and an archive node
