RATIONALEWhen given this task I was unsure on what to do due to not being a big reader, and if I were to design something, I’d prefer to be a bit more passionate about what I’m designing. Therefore I just created three themed books around different animals and hoped to capture that animal within the cover, using typography enhanced with extra elements.

To create all three of these, the typography was all sketched, scanned, and then vectored with some minor changes once they were put on the computer. All of the elements within the crow design were all traced and vectored from photo’s I found to enhance the concept. The Stag was completely just a vectored sketch and given texture within the editing process. The Wolf was also just a sketch that was vectored, as well as a vectored claw mark to represent the W. I attempted to rip these myself to try and do it that way, but it didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped.

Overall this course put a bit more faith within my drawing ability but also informed me that I have a long way to go when vectoring typography, as the clean Crow sketch was extremely challenging to complete. I am happy with how all of these came out as I am a firm believer in clean and simple, and I feel I have done what I set out to do.
