DescriptionLong casing is the type widely used in In-line operations
with free suction. The axial fan is used in a large numbers of
ventilation applications for marine installations, e.g cargo
rooms, engine room a.o.
Axial fans are typically used where you have transportation of
big air volume at small pressure drops.
TAM type is produced between Ø250 mm – Ø1000 mm with
different impeller angle combinations. TAM is manufactured
up to 70.000 m3/h.
Above Ø 1000 mm we refer to Tam Max series.
Distinguished features for TAM fans are high capacity and
excellent reliability.

Optional PLC unit controlWe offer PLC-based control as standard.
With PLC control the pressure gauges and the low/high and
oil pressure cut-outs are replaced by pressure sensors with
readings and settings from the PLC control panel.
Traditional unit controlsWe can still offer traditional controls as an option.
Traditional unit controls include:
• Low pressure cut-out, which will stop the compressor at a
pre-set minimum suction pressure. Automatic reset after
stop.
• High pressure cut-out, which will stop the compressor
at a pre-set maximum discharge pressure. Manual reset
required after stop.
• Low oil pressure cut-out, which will stop the compressors
at a pre-set minimum differential pressure.
The cut-out incorporates an electro-mechanical time delay
and is manually reset after stop.
ClassificationThe design and construction is approved by all leading
Classification Societies. Specific certification must be stated
at time of order.

HUMIDIFICATION
Humidity effectiveness:Humidity effectiveness is defined as the ratio of the quantity of water absorbed by the air, to the quantity that is required for complete saturation. If the water temperature does not differ substantially from the air temperature, the humidification will take place as shown on the psychometric chart. Using the designations given in the chart, the humidification effectiveness may be expressed by the equation;
x2-x1 η=
x3-x1
x being the water content (gr/kg) and x3 its value in the saturation point, obtained by the intersection of the constant enthalpy line with the saturation curve.
The available systems for humidification are: sprayed water with nozzles, low pressure steam distributor, sprayed water with compressed air. The choice of any of them depend on several reasons: availability of steam on bord, level of effectiveness, availability of compressed air, costs atc. Time by time the system will be selected taking in consideration the above points. We strongly suggest that a drain trap is installed on the outlet connection to prevent ai suction from the fan.
DROPLET ELIMINATOR
The droplet eliminator is installed downstream of cooling coils and humidifiers when air velocities are deemed to high (typically in excess of 2.5 m/sec).Eliminators can be supplied in various materials and configurations to suit the system requirements, and are mounted on slide rails for side withdrawal where maintenance or inspection are required.

HEATING COILS
Heating coils are normally made of copper tubes (5/8” diameter, 0.4mm wall thickness), and aluminium fins (0.15mm thick), housed within a galvanised sheet steel casing. The coil geometry is based upon staggered tubes at 60mm or 30mm centres, and rows at 30mm increments. Fin spacing is available at 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm or 4mm dependent upon the heating requirements of the coil. The coil headers are made of copper or steel with a painted finish for protection against corrosion, and are usually fitted with threaded (BSP) connections, although welded flanged connections can be supplied where specifically requested. All coil headers are fitted with vent and drain sockets, and the complete coil assemblies are tested under water to a pressure of 30kg/cm2. Coils can be made also with tubes in steel, stainless steel (304 or 316), and tinned copper, and fins available in stainless steel, tinned copper, or polyester coated aluminium. All heating coils are mounted on slide rails within the Air Handling Unit casing for future withdrawal through the adjacent side panel.
Frost protection: If the heating coil is likely to be exposed to air temperatures below 0°C, precautions must be taken to protect the coil from freezing and subsequently the risk of bursting due to frost. The system should be provided with automatic controls designed to open the water valve, stop the fan and shut off the fresh air inlet damper when temperatures fall below freezing.NB. The heating coils are designed on the counter-flow principle, and in order for the coils to operate in to their full design capacity the connections must be carried out in accordance with the counterflow heath exchange.
