Purpose
• Identify Channels/talk groups that may be added to radio templates in Q1 2011 firmware refresh
• Simplify communications with Charlotte P25 (UASI P25) network users.– City of Charlotte– Mecklenburg County– Union County, NC
Channel and Talkgroup refresh• Met with City of Charlotte IT/Technology Services
• Agreed to migrate from 1000 analog only IDs to digital IDs
• Agreed that all York County public safety radios (fire/ems/law) would have access to Charlotte/Union County system
• Agreed to place UASI “regional” talkgroups in our radios
Channel and Talkgroup refresh
• Agreed that we could re-use our 346xxxx ID range– Less cumbersome to program and track for technicians– Same ID for all P25 systems
• Network access will be given to all (public safety) mobiles and portables
CEV – Charlotte Events Zone
• City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County EVENTS channels
• First (16) EVENTS channels for the Mecklenburg County
• Renamed the last (5) talkgroups in the zone
CEV – Charlotte Events Zone
CRG – Charlotte Regional Zone
• UASI region P25 talkgroups– Mecklenburg County– Union County, NC– Gaston County
• DYN RGRP – relocated to this newly created zone
CRG – Charlotte Regional Zone
CMA – Charlotte Mutual Aid Zone
• City of Charlotte/Mecklenburg County mutual aid channels (mostly unchanged)– Police, Fire, EMS, North Towns, South Towns– York Bridge – York County talkgroup on
Charlotte system
• DYN RGRP – relocated to newly created zone
CMA – Charlotte Mutual Aid Zone

Secondary Impact
• With the approval of the Users’ Group, templates will be adjusted to accommodate newly configured and/or added zones
• Radio system plans will be updated to account for zone changes
• Training programs will include zone changes
