Year 3 2015 Curriculum Overview – Term 4

Religious Education

Module 1: Prayer In this module students will focus on prayer as a means of developing a meaningful relationship with God. Students will examine both formal and informal prayer, learning about what prayer means in the lives of individuals and the Catholic Church community.

Module 2: Advent to Christmas For Advent: Students will discover that during Old Testament times, the prophets reminded the chosen people of their covenant with God. For Christmas: Students consider the celebration of Jesus' birth at Christmas as a celebration of the fulfilment of God's covenant promise to send a saviour. In exploring the meaning of Christmas, students identify ways in which they can, like Jesus, witness to the fulfilment of God's promises.
