WOW Impact! How can you make an impact? magine releasing millions of butterflies into the sky and using your iPhone to catch them. Sounds a bit farfetched right? Well that’s exactly what Mobile Art Lab did when they released their iPhone application, iButterfly, in Japan. This app uses augmented reality to display different butterflies based on where you are, allows you to use the motion sensor on your phone to catch them and gives you different offers/ coupons based on the butterflies you catch. Augmented reality is a term used for when you are able to see a live, real world view through the camera lens on your mobile device which is then augmented by computer generated additions such as graphics or sounds. For example, in the case of the iButterfly app, in addition to everything around you, you would see animated butterflies floating across your screen. So how does this apply to the real estate industry here in Canada? We are not far from seeing apps like this that serve to engage consumers in a fun and entertaining way, but also provide them with very relevant real world content that they want. For example, giving home buyers the ability to point their phone at a building and see what apartments are available for sale within that building. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. farfetched right? Well that’s exactly what Mobile Art Lab did when they released their iPhone application, iButterfly, in Japan. This app uses augmented reality to display different butterflies based on where you are, allows you to use the motion sensor on your phone to catch them and gives you different offers/coupons based on the butterflies you catch.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

s you may have heard, SSRE Offices are rolling out our WOW Impact training classes. You may ask yourself: what is this

and why should I give it any attention? The bottom line is money, market share, and reputation!

This is an intense 6 week coaching & training program utilizing every day activities and focused weekly homework assignments to create new habits that directly have a positive impact on your bottom line. You will find that habits need a continuous repetitive behaviour for at least 21 days to get it right. The class focuses on prospecting tools, exposes you to business you would never have before, but you will have to meet certain quotas to stay in the game.

A new REALTOR® who commits fully to this program will add an of average 1.75 transactions during the six weeks, and experienced realtors increased by an average of 5 transactions. These transactions can be a buyer under contract to buy, a listing taken, or a listing sold. These programs are as diverse as the people attending them. Each time they are hosted, the agents will find themselves experiencing the class in a unique way. No class is ever the same. So it is a great idea for REALTORS® to attend the classes whenever they need to grow their business, as the course plans change every time to better accommodate the different people/personalities who are there.

How do you register? Contact your Branch Manager today! Classes are already getting started. Don’t miss out!

As we fully welcome our new office into the SSRE family, we also celebrate our first year anniversary. I can’t wait to post the pictures from all the celebrations in next month’s issue!

Speaking of pictures, I’m challenging all of the agents and employees of Signature Service! I want to see the picture that proves your town is the best town in Western Canada. The winner will recieve a marketing prize pack worth $50. Send them or any comments to [email protected]

n June 21, the longest and sunniest day of the year, Signature Service Wainwright hosted its grand opening. A large custom cake and Signature Service Real Estate balloons welcomed

visitors, as they enjoyed hot Hors d’Oeuvres, and waitress served “Virgin Mimosas”. With an overwhelming turnout, the event delivered a very successful outcome. The community is absolutely excited about their new brand and are reassured that the same trusted and respected sales professionals will continue to service their real estate needs, with new and advanced tools and systems. Chris Thompson, Eileen Taylor, John Pullen, and Wes Taylor hosted a phenomenal party.

Additionally, the Wainwright office opening was attended by several Signature Service Real Estate family members; several sales professionals from Lloydminster (Barry, Kelly, Michelle, Locky), and Managers Terry Thom of the Medicine Hat Office and Rita Baxter of the Lloydminster and North Battleford Offices. From Corporate there was Yvonne Thomas and Patrick Little. Even Signature Service Financial joined the mix, Jill Fischer, in support of this fantastic new office.

‘Tis the season for driving and traveling in Western Canada. So if you are out and about and you’re close to the Wainwright office, please remember that you are welcome to stop in. After all, we are all one big happy Family!

oon, Medicine Hat agents may no longer have to pick up a cheque and take it to their bank after they complete their sales.

The Medicine Hat office is investigating a new outside service that will allow participating agents to be paid by direct deposit instead of manual cheque. With a low transaction fee, there is the hope that this system will make it easier and faster for agents to receive their pay from the office. Research into the possibility of starting the program is ongoing.

s a follow up to our May 2011 WOW Magazine post, the North Battleford Relay for Life took place on June 10,

2011. North Battleford entered 36 teams, with a total of 374 participants, 196 survivors and 858 luminaries were sold. At last count, North Battleford had raised $112,389.00 and the donations are still coming in. The North Battleford Signature Service Real Estate Office participated in Relay for Life not only as Participants, but also as Survivors.Congratulations North Battleford on a job well done!

hat fun our team had! After 2 months running of successful deals written & made, Heleen treated the staff of the Taber & Coaldale offices to a get together at Luigi’s in Taber for wings.

In May we had our wing night at McLennan’s in Coaldale. There were a few of us in attendance to celebrate our successes and hard work, representing those that were not able to join us.

It was great to be able to sit and talk amongst ourselves; I especially enjoyed learning more about what this business is about, as well as finding out more about some folks on our team. (Thanks Patrick for the trip down memory lane!)

From what I have seen just in the last few weeks, we could very well see another awesome month!! Go team go!!

y name is Jill Fischer and I have lived in Lloydminster for 5 years. I have one year old twins, and I enjoy

running, hockey and spending time at the lake. I am very excited to be joining the Signature Service team and look forward to working with everyone!

uick Response Codes (QR Codes) were originally developed to help find parts in warehouses in Japan, but their use in advertising is quickly exploding across the world. These codes allow you to put many different pieces of information into a

code that smart phones and tablets can read and interpret.

Currently we’re using QR codes in our advertisements to direct people to our webpages, but as REALTORS® you can use these codes to convey huge amounts of information to potential home buyers in a fun, fast and friendly manner. And the best part is it’s REALLY Easy!

Our website has been optimized for mobile browsing, which means that your page, whether personal or a listing, will look great on a mobile phone.

QR codes are designed to be read just like a barcode. In fact, if you imagine a bunch of barcodes stacked on top of each other, that is all a QR code really is.

Any QR code generator should work when creating QR codes, but the one we use for most of our advertising is:

http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/

Go to that link, from the drop down ‘contents’ menu and select url. Enter your web address and hit generate. Right click the image when it appears and hit ‘save as.’ That’s it, now you can use that QR code in any print or visual media you want.

This isn’t the only use for QR codes – Look for an exciting training next month where we will explore other uses for QR codes that will help increase your business.
