“Be Mine,” “Love You,” “Miss You”... You probably recognize these
sayings from the ever popular Sweethearts heart-shaped candies. While
most candies are purchased to be enjoyed by the purchaser this is one
candy that is often purchased to give away. It is just as much the
message as it is the sweetness that makes the candies so popular to be
shared with those we care about.
The same sayings have been given to all of us from our Heavenly
Father. From the creation of man God's message to us has been “Be
Mine” (Matt. 25:34), “Love You” (John 3:16), and “Miss You” (Luke
15). God wants us to be His, not Satan's, and not this world's. The
Bible's main theme is God's love for us. How many times does God
have to remind his followers through the centuries that He missed them
when they went astray?
As with Sweethearts, God wants us to give these messages away. They
are not meant to be solely kept to ourselves. As Christ taught, we are to
share God's messages with everyone (Matt. 28:19-20). Of course not
everyone will be accepting of the message you have to share.
Sometimes Christians are even described by the world as intolerant
when sharing the messages that God left us in the Bible.
Unlike Sweethearts God did not sugarcoat His messages when He
named the sins of mankind (Gal. 5:19-21) and He commands that we
share those messages as well. It should be noted that it is not the
Christian calling out the sinner but it is God's Word.
As another Valentine’s Day passes make sure that you are not only
sharing candy messages but also God's messages that say “Miss You,”
“Love You,” and “Be Mine.”
To God be the glory, Kevin Hunter

FLORENCE BOULEVARD
CHURCH OF CHRIST
The
We are having a U.F.O (un finished object) get
together on Saturday, February 28th from 10 am-2
pm in the Fellowship Hall. This is for every lady
at Florence Blvd. Everyone is asked to bring
soups, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks.
An un finished object is something you started a
while back or just recently started. This is a time to
fellowship with each other and work on our
objects. If you do not have an unfinished object to
work on, that is fine, please come and just
fellowship with one another.
Thank you so much for the flower arrangement ,
sent to funeral, and to the Ladies Class, for your
thoughtfulness. You have been so supportive with your visits, cards, calls, and love.
The Pearl Hines Family
To the members of Florence Blvd Church of Christ,
The family of Nancy Hogan is very grateful for allowing our family to gather
together and begin the process of healing. Love is
a fleeting thing in today’s world. Thank you for
showing your love to us. Your facilites were
wonderful and it is my decrest wish that you continue to grow in the worship of the Lord God.
Your kindness and sympathy will always be held in
grateful remembrance. Huey Hogan & Family

BUT ONCE
I shall pass through this world but once. Any good
therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can
show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me
not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. Keep your heart free from hate, your mind
from worry. Live simply, expect little, give much,
sing often, pray always. Fill your life with love.
Scatter sunshine. Forget self-think of others. Do as
you would be done by these are the tried links in
contentment’s golden chain.
