Brother Rashid, the son of a Muslim Imam, met with the Lord and converted to Christianity. His testi-monies are truly wonderful. Worship Bags for Children can be found on Sunday mornings in the FLC Commons entrance. The bags contain worship aids and activities for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Please take one for your child and return it at the end of the service. Sanctuary Flower Dedications: Do you have a special anniversary or birthday coming up or do you want to remember a loved one? ADULTS Women’s Bible Study, We Saved You A Seat, by Lisa Jo Baker, will begin on June 6. This 7-week study, led by Jennifer Luzzatto, Susan Hill and Kathi Traficanti, will be held on Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, in FLC 246. The workbook is $13. Second Cousins: On Tuesday, June 19, join us for discussion and dessert, at 2:30 p.m., in FLC 246. Author, Robert C. Layton, will be talking about his book, Discovering Richmond Monuments: A History of River City Landmarks Beyond the Avenue. Copies of the book will be available for purchase. There is no cost. VBS is June 25-29, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. This summer, come ashore at Second Baptist as we are Shipwrecked, but Rescued by Jesus. We’ll plunge into oceans of fun while anchoring kids with Biblical truth, making a splash with hands on object lessons and launching engaging faith conversations. You can register children, Pre-K (age 4) - completed 5th, as well as younger children if you are volunteering. You can also register to volunteer for this fun and exciting week. If you’re free this week WE NEED YOU! Register to attend or volunteer by going to our website. Optional after camp care (Pre-K through 5th grade), from 12:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., with our Recreation Ministry is also available. See our website for details and registration. Welcome Summer Luau is Friday, June 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There is no better way to welcome warmer weather here in RVA than with a Family Luau party! Hula on over to Second Baptist for a luau on the front lawn. There will be music, food, bounce houses for the little ones and other fun surprises along the way. Cost is $6 a person. MISSIONS CARITAS Team Needs You, July 7-14! Join us as we host approximately 32 women for the week. Spend time listening and conversing with our guests. Dive In Movie! All middle school students are invited to a “Dive in Mov-ie” at the Luzzatto’s pool (9 Dunaway Drive) on Wednesday, June 6, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Students should eat dinner at least a half hour before arriv-ing, but save room for desserts and drinks. Recommendation to Ordain Kathi Traficanti to the Gospel Ministry: An Ordination Council, called by Dr. Sherouse, met with Kathi Traficanti on May 12, and brings a recommendation to the church that we proceed with ordaining her. The congregation will vote on this on Wednesday night, May 23, at 6:00 p.m. at the beginning of Wednesday night Dinner. Copies of Kathi’s Testimony and the notes from the Ordination Council are available in the Commons. If approved, the Ordination Service will be held on Satur-day, June 30, at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Financial Summary as of April 30, 2018:

MUSIC On Tuesday evening, May 22, at 8:00 p.m., Dr. Mary Beth Bennett, our new organist, will be presenting a free concert at Bruton Parish in Williamsburg. All are invited to attend! Our Final Children’s Choir Concert for this year, “All Creation Sings,” will be held on Wednesday, May 23, at 6:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary. All our choirs and children’s bell groups will be performing, so it promises to be a wonderful night of music! We hope you will join us.

OFFERING FOR CAMP ALKULANA Did you know that Richmond Baptists have an outpost in Bath County? It's a camp - Camp Alkulana - that gives about 200 inner-city children a week or more of challenging outdoor adventures and new relationships each sum-mer. This ministry is funded by a special offering, collected in May. The goal of $158,850.00 will cover operating costs for the year. To contribute, place your gift in the blue-bordered Missions Offerings envelope that came with your offering envelopes and indicate that it is for Camp Alkulana. At this time, we also emphasize and pray for the ministries of our Richmond Baptist Centers - Church Hill, Oregon Hill, and South Richmond.
