Beauty and the Beast, the romantic French fairy tale from the 18th century, is being celebrated during our World of Beauty and the Beast fair at four of our restaurants and lounges from April 1 to June 30.

See the Glass Court decorated as a French palace with a rose orchard, take photos of the 30 different Princess Belle-themed desserts at All Day Dining Jurin’s sweets buffet, take part in the women’s fairy tale party plan at French & Italian Duo Fourchettes, and try the Aurora Sky Lounge’s colorful Beauty and the Beast creations for afternoon tea.

The hotel will also be hosting a number of Beauty and the Beast events. Along our second-floor corridor, we will exhibit around 50 3D shadow boxes by different artists that will feature roses and scenes from the story.

Japan’s traditional paper art on show

Celebrate romance during our World of Beauty and the Beast fair

Washi Japanese paper has long been a part of our culture and was registered as an element on UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2014. The washi art on display in our luxury club lounge adds a richness to the Premier Grand Club Floors. As you step into the reception area, to your right you will see a work of beautiful Echizen washi that depicts a distant mountain range as seen through a window.

Craftsmen have carefully created each washi piece in the library and lounge, using gold and pearl powder to add radiant, elegant colors. It is interesting to take note of the differences in the expression and handicraft of each piece. The handmade washi art on display in the dining area makes use of the traditional Japanese indigo-dyeing technique, aizome, which was developed in Tokushima prefecture. Come and experience the unique textures of washi and stare into the soul of Japan through its paper art.
