Women and Literature1. Charlotte Bronte  (1816-1855)¨

The eldest of the Brontë three sisters; Charlotte was an english novelist and poet. Her best known novel is Jane Eyre, which follows the motions and experiences of Jane Eyere, the main character of the novel.

Women and Literature2. Emily Dickinson(1830-1886)

Emily Dickinson was an american poet. She was born in Massachusetts. She lived a very reclusive life, but was a productive poet, she wrote nearly 1800 poems.

Women and Literature3. Virginia Woolf (1882-1941)

Virginia Woolf was an english writer and one of the principal modernists of the 20th Century. Her most famous works include: Mrs. Daloway (1925), To the Lighthouse (1927), Orlando (1928).

Women and Literature4. Maya Angelou (1928-2014)

Maya Angelou was an amercian writer and poet. She published several books of poetry, essays, autobiographies and plays. She was a respected spokesperson for black women. Maya Angelou recited the poem On the Pulse of Morning in 1993 at President Clinton’s inauguration.
