About the Foundation…

We started this foundation when a 14 year old girl (Amber) decided to take her own life on May 25, 2005

This Foundation is a source for kids like Amber to find different ways to solve their problems other than through suicide.

Hope stands for Helping Others Prevent Suicide Through Education

Values and Mission

Inputs

We have a board of adults as well as a board of teenagers in order to successfully run our organization

We fundraise so that we have money to provide conferences, brochures, flyers, and many other things to our community so they will be well educated about suicide and suicide prevention

OutputsWe focus on reaching out towards teens and young adults in our community, but we are here to help anyone, and everyone

We counsel suicide survivors

We help friends, family, teachers, and anyone else learn and cope with suicide

Process

We go to classrooms and speak to teenagers all over our community

We put on fundraisers

We hold conferences

We also have school Gatekeeper training as well as Community Gatekeeper training

OutcomesWe have saved many people from attempting suicide

We have provided a source for people to talk and ask questions about suicide

We have made people aware of signs of suicide and have educated them about suicide

We have given knowledge to people on how to save a friend or family member who is thinking about suicide

-Our foundation educates youth on how to make good and healthy decisions

-We encourage troubled youth to not be afraid to seek help from parents, family, teachers, etc.

-We teach youth how to recognize suicide warning signs in their friends, and what to do to help them before it is to late.

-We conduct a variety of self esteem activities and teach our youth not give into peer pressure

-The Just Think Foundation helps youth make sound and healthy behavior decisions

-They encourage their youth to engage positively with peers, parents, educators, etc.

-They Abet their students to think for themselves and not be involve in pejorative behavior

Although suicide education may be

formidable to many teenagers, it is our

goal to reach as many teenagers as possible

and educate them on the topic of suicide

prevention.
