An Introduction to Mindfulness: Improving Daily Awareness and Building Joy — Mindfulness is a practice of becoming aware of one’s thoughts and actions. By engaging in mindfulness practice, people learn to first calm their mind and relax their bodies; one then learns to become aware of the judging and critical mind. Through practice, one creates space to replace the often internal negative dialogue with a more positive and truthful perspective, based on moment-to-moment awareness. Chris Frasz, MSW, incorporates a number of mindfulness practices to create the foundation for each person to develop their own mindfulness practice.
