DR. DAVID “SKIP” GARDNER Head Coach

Dr. David “Skip” Gardner begins his first year as coach of the BEARS. He holds a United States Soccer Federation National “B” License. Skip has been coaching soccer for 20 years and his varied coaching experiences include club, high school, and college. Skip attended Cedarville College where he played soccer for four years. He received his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. Skip spent four summers playing soccer in Europe with the Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club and has taken soccer tours to Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. He is currently a Senior Academy coach for Orlando City Soccer.

JULIAN ANDRADE Head Coach

Julian Andrade was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. Coach Julian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science with a specialization in Coaching and Human performance from the University of Central Florida and a Master’s degree in Sport Administration from Canisius College. Currently, Julian works as a head coach with Orlando City Youth Soccer, and while working with this soccer Club coach became Director of coaching of the recreational side of the club. Coach holds a UEFA B coaching license , and an International Coaching license from the FA (FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF ENGLAND); coach Julian has been able to work at the professional level in South America participating in International Competitions as an assistant. He has been able to shadow professional coaches from Italian teams such as Milan, and in England Professional coaches from Reading and Fulham. Coach Julian brings extensive experience to our soccer program and is an asset to our program. “After Coach Gardner invited me to assist him at Winter Springs Soccer, I had no doubts in accepting it, and combine his coaching experience with mine to build a soccer program that will develop the soccer level for our school”

GUSTAVO MARTINEZHead Coach

Originally from Bogota, Colombia. He learned to love the game by playing on the streets and competing daily for a soda and a “Roscon” (Sweet bread), with friends and local teams. At age 15 his family relocated to Bayamon, Puerto Rico and he attended Lincoln Military Academy where he was scouted to play for the Military School and for the U17 Colombian National Team representation. By age 18, his family relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. where he played for Northeast High School. After graduation, he played for St. John Vianney College in Miami and then for Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton where he pursued his degree in Psychology. His coaching career started in 1997 coaching AYSO for 7 years in Pembroke Pines. There he meets the AC Milan Hemispheric Academy Director and he was offered to run with the organization of the AC MILAN Junior camps in the US. In 2005 he relocated to Phoenix, AZ where he started WorldnetSoccer Corp, a Youth Soccer Club /Academy in partnership with AC Milan and Grand Canyon University coaching staff. In June of 2014 he relocated to Lake Mary, Fl. where he lives closer to his parents and with Ramona, his wife of 20 years, and his kids Daniel (19), Andres (16), Javier (9) and Paola (8). Coach Gustavo is excited about the opportunity to coach for Winter Springs High School, to learn from the coaching staff, parents and players and to share his knowledge, experience and passion for the game. Coach Martinez and the Diocese of Orlando are working on a Christian Youth Soccer program to start in 2015

Coach Gustavo holds US Youth Soccer National Youth License, US Youth Soccer C License, NSCAA College Coaching Certifications, NSCAA High School Coaching Certification, NSCAA Goalkeeping I and II, NSCAA Youth Soccer License (U4 to U12), COERVER Coaching Training Certification.
