Meet Marianne! Please meet mariane, who has been a member of the Kitimat Seniors’ Centre for many years. mariane has organized centre-piece and wreath making workshop at the seniors’ centre, along with being the leader of our Gardening Club for a few of those years. Walter, maryannes’ husband, was even talked in to making soup for our monthly lunches on a few occasions. over the past few years we haven’t seen as much of Marianne following the loss her beloved husband Walter. For those that know this grief you understand best. this fall, Mariane has been back at the Centre quite regularly again, and has taken on a new hosting position at the seniors’ centre on monday mornings. she is also now a regular, twice a week at both carpet Bowling and Pickle Ball, even completing her first Pickle Ball tournament in terrace this past fall.

Mariane shares that at the Seniors’ Centre there is a sense of fellowship and friendship, as we take our place amongst each other. mariane encourages us all to make an effort with others to bring them out if they are alone, or feeling lonely…we all need a place to belong and the Seniors’ Centre is here for that reason.

Maryanne is a great role model for us all in her volunteerism, her desire to stay connected, and her activity level at 70 plus years.
