Windygoul Primary School January 19 Brotherstones Way Tel: 01875 619739 [email protected] We hope that everyone has enjoyed their winter break and has managed some well-deserved down time. There is a busy and purposeful atmosphere already across the school and it has been lovely to catch up with all of the pupils. We are looking forward to our Burns/Scots’ poetry and singing competition and our evening event. There is also a special invite for parents to come along to a session about planned changes to our positive behaviour and anti- bullying strategies across the school. We have invested in staff development provided by the Paul Dix team – (see below) and wish to offer an hour’s session run by one of their presenters. This will provide parents with the rationale behind the changes to our current policy and should be a fascinating and thought provoking session. Reserve the date– Monday 18 th February 6pm to 7pm. More details about how to sign up – to follow. Staff News We welcome some new members of staff to our team; Ms Smith and Mrs McKendrick who have started in our nursery and Mr Wilson (P7) Mrs Bowen and Mrs Atkinson (job- share in P4D). Mrs Low has now returned from her maternity leave and has begun her job-share in P6. Parental Information Tesco Bags of Help competition We were successful applicants for the Tesco Bags of Help scheme. We have lodged an application for funds to transform our courtyard space. This competition runs until the end of January – so please spread the word and get voting now, in store at the Musselburgh Tesco. We are guaranteed £1000 but if we have the most votes this rises to £4000 which would be a substantial benefit to the school

Tesco Bags of Help competition

We were successful applicants for the Tesco Bags of Help scheme. We have lodged an application for funds to transform our courtyard space. This competition runs until the end of January – so please spread the word and get voting now, in store at the Musselburgh Tesco. We are guaranteed £1000 but if we have the most votes this rises to £4000 which would be a substantial benefit to the school and would allow us to create an amazing space for our pupils. Thank you for your support in this.
