World Mission BroadcastThe story of a life changed due to a radio program from WMB:

“I was a Buddhist but began going to the Lampang Church of the Nazarene because of the radio program Friend to Friend, and because of a sign in front of the church that said, “Friend...the only word that matters.”

“When I first listened to the radio program I was afraid and not brave enough to call the church because I was sure it was a trick. I had been fooled by many people promising to be my friend only to take advantage of me. But at the church I learned there is no one who loves me as much as God does. Now I understand what peace is because Jesus is my friend.”

“Being a Christian isn’t about changing religions, it is about God changing our life. In the past I tried to convince people who had converted from Buddhism to Christianity to switch back. But now, I encourage everyone to listen to the radio program Friend to Friend from the Church of the Nazarene and to find Christ.”

- Inthun, former Buddhist, now a believer in Christ

World Mission Broadcast sends the gospel message out by using radio, television, and internet programs. WMB is even exploring cell phone broadcasting as yet another way to reach those who need the message to change their lives. Be a part of sending that message.

Change a Life Through Workplace GivingNazarene Compassionate Ministries Inc. participates in workplace campaign giving via the United Way. Many corporations and small business employers now provide their employees the opportunity to give. These employees may write in NAZARENE COMPASSIONATE MINISTRIES, INC (NCMI) on their United Way or other workplace campaign forms.

Federal, military and postal employees are given an opportunity to give at their place of employment through the Combined Federal Campaign. A brochure listing possible charitable organizations should be provided. NAZARENE COMPASSIONATE MINISTRIES, INC (NCMI) is listed in that brochure (#11735).

Get Involved With LINKS• Write your LINKS missionaries and assure them of your prayers, asking for personal

requests.• Send remembrances for special days like birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

Remember, surface mail takes quite a while to arrive in some locations, so plan accordingly.

• Children and youth find it especially meaningful to become personally acquainted with a missionary or a missionary's child. Encourage young people to send cards, small gifts, pictures, videos, and audio cassettes to your church's LINKS missionaries.

• Check the Unofficial LINKS Lists. Have your LINKS missionaries posted specific needs for their field with which you can help?

• See if your LINKS missionary can use Skype or Facetime and have a church chat.

Child SponsorshipNazarene Compassionate Ministries’ child sponsorship program focuses on holistic child development, encouraging children to grow in all areas of their lives: physical, intellectual, emotional, relational, and spiritual. Through child sponsorship, children have the opportunity to:

• Grow up healthy. Sponsored children receive supplemental nutrition, hygiene education, and preventative health care.

• Receive an education. A child’s sponsorship assists with school fees, uniforms, books, supplies, and even transportation. Education gives a child opportunities for a brighter future.

• Gain confidence and social skills. Sponsored children gain confidence as they learn that they are capable and as they learn how to interact with others in a healthy way—equipping children to be agents of change in their communities.

• Develop spiritually. Sponsored children experience Christ-like love through the staff and volunteers at child development centers, and they have the opportunity to learn from the Bible and pray together.

• Build a relationship with a sponsor. Through letters, cards, and photos, sponsored children receive love, encouragement, and support from caring sponsors. This relationship gives children a sense of their value and hope for the future.

To sponsor a child go to: http://cs.ncm.org/ChildSponsorship or contact John Karg (see NMI-10).

“If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Children’s Missions Project - HeaventrainGoal $2,500

Heaventrain is all about having a “do-whatever-it-takes” attitude to get outside the walls of the Church to bring the Church to the people… Reality is that as Christians, people we pass on the streets each day in our city and in our neighborhoods are our responsibility. Heaventrain takes the Church to where the people are…Currently, Heaventrain Columbus has 6 sites around the city. EACH Saturday April 25-November 21, Heaventrain will go to each site. Children and people of all ages experience fun/relationship building games and activities, high energy worship, a Bible story presentation on the bus, and receive a hot and healthy meal from the Heaventrain food trailer.Heaventrain Columbus is not a one church effort… It is a partnership among churches that strive to partner with others throughout our community so people come to KNOW and GROW in Christ. Heaventrain is simply a strategic ministry tool focused on building relationships, connecting and discipling families to Christ. It’s a church on wheels!
