What the whole SITUATION is about???
David Bradley, who owns The Atlantic asked Indra K. Nooyi on
Aspen Ideas Festival ASPEN, Colorado, what's her say on Anne-Marie
Slaughter's "Why Women Still Can't Have It All.“
Her response was :
“I don't think women can have it all. I just don't think so. We pretend
we have it all. We pretend we can have it all. My observation is that the
biological clock and the career clock are in total conflict with each other.
Total, complete conflict”.
Opposing Responses
• If anyone really feels like they can't do it all, I feel like it's a little bit
discouraging to say that. Even if I couldn't and it wasn't possible, I would try.
- Kim Kardashian, TV star
• Being around your child all the time isn’t a direct link to what is considered
being a good parent. It’s how you spend them that counts.
- Jennifer Hill, cofounder and CEO of Sixty Vocab
• I think Indra Nooyi’s comments are based on her experiences and she shouldn’t
make broad statements about all women in the workforce who have children.
- MJ Pedone, founder of Indra Public Relations
Supporting Responses • I think any parent that is an executive of a company has a hard time balancing it
all.
- Andrea Thomas, CEO of ScratchMeNot
• You cannot have it all, no one can. With every choice, you sacrifice something,
and that’s ok.
Robyn Tippins, cofounder and CEO of Mariposa Interactive
• The only way for women to contribute to society to the degree they are capable
is to have more permission for men to stay at home, support, and balance the
way we do.
- Dr. Amy Baxter, CEO of MMJ Labs
