Dear Mom and Dad,

Don’t you think that I’m responsible? Haven’t you seen how I always clean up, how I always help my sister when she needs help? Then, why can’t I have a dog? Why not? I should get a dog because I am very responsible and having a dog will add to my responsibilities, dogs are a great way to get exercise, and all my friends have dogs, when i’m more responsible then most of them. And, after all “dogs are a man’s best friend.”

I’ve been more responsible this year than I’ve ever been before. I have a MacBook now and I use it responsibly for school work. I also have a locker, and I haven’t left it unlocked- ever! That requires a lot of responsibility. I also take care of my things and ensure that I bring them home and take them back to school.

Walking dogs is a great way to get exercise. Dogs get people out of the house and running. They’re a great friend to hike with and they’re less hyper once they’ve had a good run outside. You’re the ones who say I should get out of the house. A dog would make sure that I get out of the house every day.

Lots of my friends have dogs. I’m not asking for a huge dog like a Golden Retriever or a Dalmatian. I don’t mind a teeny tiny dog. I do homework and hand it in on time, and I also bring all my stuff to school everyday.

That’s why I think I should get a dog.
