1981. Trained as an architect what I mainly do today is building

relational processes with communities, online/offline. I work with

public sector, companies, spontaneous communities.

I founded snark - space making and I’ve been part of many major recent

public and cultural processes. Co/auletta, #nevicata14, Ginestra

Fabbrica-della-conoscenza among others.

I’m also designing learning environments for higher educational

institutions like www.whoami.it, Politecnico di Milano and others.

Among my interests is the relationship between design and

entrepreneurship which I investigates both desk and hands on as a

startupper with cyrcolo (P2P cycling community) and as mentor.

WHOAMI?

Why designers should write?

Language is a universal code, we are not able to exist out of it. However most proper language for design is considered the visual one.

Now we go beyond disciplines, so visual language becomes less efficient as it’s less readable for the third parties.

We have made things and suddenly just felt a need to explore the written implication of some concepts we understood by doing.

We developed and want to discuss our understanding of what does it mean to be a designer nowadays and number of other topics:

• new role of a designer in society;• relationship between design and entrepreneurship;• role of craftsmanship and artisans in new ventures;• how can these new activities be related;• new ecosystems, market or production chains that they produce;• how can these affect local development policies;• inside of this new framework how can be design disciplines and tools fine-tuned in order to better fulfill our goals?

It wasn’t also about putting me to write.

It soon mainly became about having me finishing what I started.

Plus we believed just one or two authors would have been not plural enough.

So we made few experiments with @the_nomad in August by sharing with her some really drafts texts and co-writing.

Results have been exciting!

- is strongly related to twitter

- allows co-writing

- is based on long-read format

- is community of really inspiring people

Why the need for a collective fictional identity?

To be free,from ourselves.

Here we collect writings about general concepts we are interested in

Here we explore the opportunity to use @medium as a medium to explain design results (coming soon)

Here we share our experiences, thoughts tools about learning environments (coming soon)
