Over 25 years of developing successful, creative individuals

Established partnerships with leading institutions

Support and facilities unique to CSVPA

Since 1985 Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts has been a specialist arts foundation school, and over time has grown its portfolio to include degree and Pre-Master’s programmes for both UK and international students. Over the last 25 years we have given students the opportunities to develop their skills, build their confidence and progress onto some of the most prestigious Art & Design schools, music conservatoires and world-renowned drama schools.

Our programmes include partnerships with University of the Arts London, Kingston University and Britain’s most famous theatre school – the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Regardless of programme, our approach to creative learning is unique, highly personalised and guaranteed to ensure you meet your potential in an inspirational creative community in the centre of Cambridge – one of the world’s most celebrated communities in the world.

After CSVPA nothing but doors of opportunity opened up to me and I had the confidence to walk right through them and even knock on closed ones.Sandra (Hanny) Ahern

I am staying at CSVPA for the Foundation course. The teachers help us a lot and we have the essential equipment that we need.If I had a friend who wanted to come here I would tell them to come if Art is what they want to do. You can test the areas of art and design before you decide which one is for you. You can really concentrate on what you want to do.Jeffery Mak ·Hong Kong Pre-Foundation

You need to work hard because Foundation is an important step in your education. You have to try lots of different things and decide which area you want to specialise in. This means that you do not have loads of free time because you are working all day every day.Daria Egay· Russian Foundation Diploma - Fashion

We treat every student as an individual, not just as ‘this year’s intake’. Students get five days a week of teaching, with a maximum class size of 15 students to one tutor, and their own individual workspace, available seven days a week, 12 hours a day. The School itself has a dynamic creative community, with like-minded students. We give you the chance to showcase your talents to a professional standard at our end-of-year Arts Festival which includes an elaborate fashion show and full-scale drama production. This experience is unique at Foundation and even BA level. Lessons are delivered at the correct pace for you, ensuring you reach your full potential.

We see to it that your personal time is as happy as we can make it, with a personal tutor and an accommodation officer to look after your interests to simplify life. Accommodation is provided for every year you are a student, giving peace of mind and security.

Being at CSVPA truly broadened my horizons, in both the conceptual and the creative perspective. Tutors really helped me excel to the best of my potential and that made me who I am today. They have provided me not only with the tools of the trade but the inspiration and motivation I needed. I gained invaluable experiences at CSVPA. The tutors and friends I made there I will always cherish.Christa Barraquias · Philippines

I have enjoyed my time here, I love doing art and you are surrounded by people who also love to do art. The people and teachers are all so nice. I did Interior Design, Craft and Graphic Design for my rotation. The studio space is really good here and the teachers are good, guiding you and helping you to develop your skills and you learn lots of different skills.
