•Female White (British)

•Location: Bristol

•Siblings: None Age: 15 (Year 11)

•Lisa is an only child and lives in a small terrace house with her mum. Her dad left when she was just a baby and has not been in contact with her since. She sometimes wonders about trying to find him but thinks it may upset her mum if she does. She is a quiet girl at school, she doesn’t have too many friends, instead concentrating on getting her work done to get the best grades possible. The majority of her friends are outside of school and quite a bit older than herself belonging to the social group labelled ‘Goths’. Her mum doesn’t have much money but tries to give Lisa what she can. Lisa has just started working in a local pub at the weekend so she has some spending money of her own.

•Lisa has just entered into a relationship with Mark. He is 18 years old and in a local rock band who are not famous and probably never will be although the band are convinced they are destined for stardom.

•Lisa has just purchased a Blackberry phone which she funds through her job at the pub. She also has an old computer at home that has a slow but adequate internet connection that she goes on when her mum is not doing work.

•Lisa is a big user of Facebook and Twitter where she keeps in contact with a lot of friends and tweets about her views on life. Contrary to her quiet school life she is a bit of an activist outside of school and voices her opinions on matters that are important to her through her social networks, attending rallies and writing for online blogs.

•She is hoping that her Blackberry will allow her to increase her online presence and allow her to spend more time blogging and understanding the issues that she is concerned with
