Day 02 16 OCT – Kolkata SightseeingBreakfast at hotel, then after we will explorethis vibrant and lively city during the wholeday tour. We will visit the Victoria Memorialand magnificent build-ings in the area ofChowringhee and Dal-housie Square. We alsovisit the Jain Temple, thetemple of GoddessDurga and the FortWilliams. Day 03. 17 OCT – At KolkataBreakfast at hotel. Then visit Kolkata Memo-rial of Indian indentured Laborers who leftIndia during the 19th and early 20th cen-turies.

The Kolkatta Port is significant in the his-tory of indenturedship of Indians. It is fromhere where the journey of Indians sent out toplaces like Guyana, Trinidad, Suriname, Fuji,and other parts of the Caribbean began.

It is here where the ancestors of millionsof overseas Indian were kept in prison-likeconditions until there was a full load of human

cargo to make the journey to the Caribbeanand other destinations.

Following the first ever Akhand Yajna of itskind in New York City, the Secretariat submit-ted a proposal to establish a Memorial on thegrounds of the Indian Parliament in Delhi todraw attention to Indians and the rest of theworld about the consequences Indentureshipand the Reality of the presence of Indianswho continue to build a positive awareness ofIndia in places like Guyana, Trinidad, Suri-name, Fiji, Mauritius and other places in theCaribbean. The proposal was then handed tothe then Indian Ambassador SiddharthaShankar Ray in Washington, D.C in January,1993.

Subsequently, the Secretariat gave a copyto Mr. Ashook Ramsaran, when he was amember of GOPIO and he followed-up on thisproposal as diligently as possible. The plaquewas written by Guyanese born Shri AshookRamsaran, President of GOPIO International.This inauguration took place on January 11,2011.

Later proceed to visit the DakshineshwarKali Temple. The Goddess Kali liberates herdevotees from theocean of existence.The temple was builtin 1855 by Rani Rash-moni, a philanthropistand a devotee of Kali.The temple is famousfor its association withRamakrishna, a mys-tic of 19th Century

Bengal. Balance of the day at leisure or walkin bazaars of Kolkatta (Overnight at hotel). Day 04 .18 OCT – FlyKolkata to Chennai,Chennai Sightseeing +Train to MaduraiBreakfast at hotel, thenafter in time transferred toKolkata airport to connect flight to Chennai.On arrival proceed for sightseeing tourincludes St. Thomas’ Cathedral which hous-es the grave of St. Thomas the Apostle, theBronze Museum & Mylapore Temple.Later Evening in time transferred to Chennairailway station to connect train to Madurai.(Overnight on board)

Day 05. 19 OCT – Arrive Madurai + Sight-seeing. Arrive Madurai at 0615 Hrs, met andtransferred to hotel. Later enjoy the visit ofMeenakshi temple, Temple museum, Tiru-manai Nayak Palace. (Overnight at hotel)

Day 06. 20 OCT- Excursion to Ramesh-waram. Breakfast at hotel, then after takean excursion to Rameshwaram - is anisland situated in the gulf of manner at thevery tip of the Indian peninsula. According toHindu mythology, this is the place from wherethe Hindu god Rama built a bridge, across thesea to Lanka to rescue his wife Sita from herabductor Ravana. The RamanathaswamyTemple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva islocated at the centre of the town and is close-ly associated with Rama. The temple alongwith the town is considered a holy pilgrimagesite for both Shaivites and Vaishnavites.Evening return back to hotel. (Overnight athotel).

Day 07. 21 OCT – Drive Madurai toKanyakumari + Sightseeing. Breakfast athotel, then after drive to Kanyakumari andcheck in to hotel. Kanyakumari the southern-most tip of Indian sub continent also a fantas-tic tourist spot with the specialty as threemajor sea joints together there(Arabian Sea,Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal). It’s a holyplace for Hindu Pilgrims too. On the way toKanyakumari, you can visit Padmanabhapu-ram palace too as its the architecture wonderof Kerala with aesthetic & complicated wood-en works. After breakfast check-out and transfer to Alleppey 160 km 4 hrs viaTrivandrum and visit Shri PadmanabhaswamiTemple- Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple isa Vedic temple dedicated to Lord Vishnulocated in Thiruvananthapuram, India, in thestate of Kerala. The shrine is run by a trustheaded by the royal family of Travancore.[1]The temple is one of 108 Divya Desams(Holy Abodes of Vishnu) – principal centres ofworship of the deity in Vaishnavism. LordBalarama, according to Srimad Bhagavatam(10.79.18), visited Phalgunam (now knownas Thiruvananthapuram) as part of his

teerthyatra, took bath in Panchapsaras (Pad-matirtham) and made a gift of ten thousandcows to holy men.
