sunday 1st November 3.00 to 4.30 pm Black grouse walk near schiehal-lionBraes of Foss car parkDespite declines elsewhere in the UK, black grouse in Perthshire are doing really well and this is a fantastic area to watch these wonderful birds. The guided walks offer people the chance to see this stunning bird in action, as the males group together to perform their displays in the wild landscape of Dùn Coillich hill. Telescopes will be set giving great views of this dancing display. The walk will start from the Braes of Foss car park which is approximately a mile west, off the B846 between Tummel Bridge and Aberfeldy at Tomphubil. The nearest postcode is PH16 5NN. There is a £2 car parking charge. The walk costs £4 per adult (children free) and there will be a hot drink provided at the end of the walk. Places are limited and booking is essential. For the younger visitor there will be storytelling and a mini Highland Games as well as a shop window competition called Mouse Mission. For grown ups and older children, there will be special offers in shops and cafes, a BBQ at Fisher’s Hotel, street entertainment and market stalls. The Finale of the day will be the switch on of the lights on Fisher’s Hotel Christmas Tree at 4pm by the winners of a school art competition.

The guided walks offer people the chance to see this stunning bird in action, as the males group together to perform their displays in the wild landscape of Dùn Coillich hill. Telescopes will be set giving great views of this dancing display. The walk will start from the Braes of Foss car park which is approximately a mile west, off the B846 between Tummel Bridge and Aberfeldy at Tomphubil. The nearest postcode is PH16 5NN. There is a £2 car parking charge. The walk costs £4 per adult (children free) and there will be a hot drink provided at the end of the walk. Places are limited and booking is es-sential.
