• The future is around the corner…

Page 3: What Technology Will Look Like in 2026

Evolution of technology • Over the last 50 years there have been a great number of innovations in regards to

technology. Great examples are the evolution of cell phones and the internet. 50 years ago, telephones were in the first stages of its creation and now we have access to cell phones. • Apple has created a watch which allows you to communicate with the same

capabilities as you would utilizing a cell phone and seeing how much has changed goes to prove greater enhancements are yet to come.

• The internet was not available 50 years ago and today, it has become a vital platform and is used widely throughout the nation. • By the year 2026, there will be wireless devices which will have the capabilities to

communicate through projectors as seen on movies about the future.

Media System Dependency Theory• The Media System Dependency Theory is a theory which attempts to

explore and describe the role of media in society’s by studying dependency relations.• The Degree of Dependence is directly proportional to• Individuals• Social Stability• Active audiences

Innovation of Technology• Cell phones are the most used technology and also the fastest

evolving technology. • By the year 2026, the use of physical mail and reading news papers

will be irrelevant. • Despite the on going use of news papers and physical mail now,

technology and its innovation by the year 2026 technology will become more available to people and they will have all they desire at an easy and accessible rate.

Uses and Gratifications Theory

• The Uses and Gratification Theory is the theory which explains how people use media for their need and gratification meaning this theory states what people do with media rather than what media does to people.• The Five Categories associated

• Cognitive needs• Affective needs• Personal Integrative needs• Social Integrative needs • Tension free needs• According to uses and gratification theory, it is not so people make use of the media

for their specific needs. This theory can be said to have a user/audience-centered approach .

Social Learning Theory

• The Social Learning Theory states that people learn from observing others’ behavior, attitudes and outcomes of those behaviors.

• As I stated the definition for the Social Learning Theory it just goes to prove the accuracy of it because as humans we tend to mimic what we see and learn from personal experiences.

• After evaluating the meaning of the Social Learning Theory it also became obvious that future technology and innovations will be present because the universe is constantly evolving and being introduced to new and enhanced technology. • Albert Bandura made this statement about the Social Learning Theory

• "Learning would be exceedingly laborious, not to mention hazardous, if people had to rely solely on the effects of their own actions to inform them what to do. Fortunately, most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action."

• -Albert Bandura, Social Learning Theory, 1977

Social Cognitive Theory• The Social Cognitive Theory states that we develop a whole range of

behavior including thoughts and feelings. • We have a lot of cognitive control over our behavior and an example

is just because we have had experiences of violence does not mean we have to reproduce such behavior. • To better explain the how the future may look in 2026 A.D., goes to

support the claim of the Social Cognitive Theory and how we are all affected by experiences and with the future approaching, innovators will enhance whatever they either desire to have or what they simply feel needs improvement.

Future innovations and possible impact

• With the many inventions over the last 50 years, it is evident that people will become accustomed to the old ways and will create new avenues. • Examples to further support my claims will be the enhancements of

Vehicles, Technology meaning cell phones and Education and its value increasing as we are exposed to new knowledge. • All examples are great platforms to base my claims using simple

Theories of the past and predictions for the future.
