LeadershipOpportunities

Exploring Post #202 is run by the Explorers them-

selves. They even have their own chain of com-mand, including a post

Captain. These positions are appointed and then voted by the Explorers.

Being responsible to their post and team helps the Explorers have a sense

of purpose and facilitates their ability to work and

grow as a leader.

ExperientialOpportunitiesThe Explorers are encouraged to take every opportunity to “get hands on” that they can. This can be as simple as par-ticipating in airway management workshops, bleeding/ shock workshops, or even an MCI (Multi-casualty Incident) Drill. The Explorers and the advisors work together to create the yearly syllabus, which provides the Explorers the opportunities to focus on what their potiential career entails. Post #202 also offers the opportunity to ride along with ambulance crews. The Explorers will be exposed to real life emergencies and interfacility transfers. This ex-perience will give them an real insight into a career in health care and/or emergency medical services.

“The best parts of Post #202 are: the people-- the Explorers and our advisors, we are always learning new skills. We always have an amazing time at meetings and the field-trip opportunities. The ride-alongs are very educational and it’s even fun to represent our post in parades and other community events.”

Explorers are continuously able to practice their skills and apply their knowledge.

They even have the opportunity to do ride-alongs on FLA’s

ambulances!

NetworkingOpportunities

They are able to create last-ing relationships with pro-fessionals that they meet during our various field trips and presentations.
