WHAT IS A PROMOTIONAL PACKAGE?

Definition:

A promotional package is the way in which a film is marketed to audiences. Since companies are unable to go to customers and attempt to make them see the movie. As a result, the film’s promotion does this for them.

cast standing with the sunlight behind them and on a cliff, emphasising their importance in the story as they immediately catch the reader’s eye. The music emphasises the scale of the adventure by playing low noted when our main characters are shown on screen and the epic spectacles and locations that they will visit. The trailer then shows us what will happen in the movie by showing the grand armies and the epic confrontations that will happen in this film, all the while the words #ONELASTTIME is written at the bottom in order to make the watchers want to see the film as it will be the last time that they are able to got to Middle Earth.

The dark images of the background contrasts with the title, the titular character and the release date. Important information concerning the film is delivered to the audience while also differentiating the text and images for the audience.

Dark background creates a dark tone for the film and the light/dark imagery shown at the side of the poster show that this is a battle between good and pure evil.The burning

ground, emphasises the violence in the world in which this character inhabits. This is further emphasised by the fact that main characters are shown with their weapons drawn.

Magazine coverThe swords drawn in this film emphasise that the film will be an action film and the clothes worn by the characters emphasises the fact that this film will be a fantasy film.

The fact that the main character is wearing bright blue clothes emphasises that he is the main character as he immediately captures the audience’s attention.

The fact that the magazine shows the central character of its cover kneeling in front of another character emphasises the fact that the kneeling character is a servant to the character standing directly behind him.

The third Hobbit film’s entire promotional package is based around the epic scale that it claims to have and the battles that it shows. As well as this, the film is attempting to say that this will also probably be the last time that we visit Middle Earth or at least Peter Jackson’s version of it.
