WHAT DOES HEAVEN LOOK LIKE? How about an exotic island where the scenery surrounding you is extraordinary?  I’ve  got  to  admit,  Lombok  was  by  far  one  of  my  most  memorable  holidays.    Besides  the  island  being  a  place  to  relax,  it  is  a  destination  that  is  filled  with  adventure.  The  instant  I  began  diving,  my  knowledge  of  the  endangered  coral  expanded.  It  saddens  me  to  know  that  humans  are  partly  the  cause  of  this.  I  was  privileged  enough  to  get  the  opportunity  to  help  coral  that  is  dead  become  alive  again.      Stepping  into  a  new  world  filled  with  creatures  that  I  imagined  were  only  magical,  was  an  incident  I  could  only  experience  underwater.  After  my  fifth  dive  I  thought  that  I  would  get  bored  from  seeing  the  same  thing  over  and  over  again,  but  I  was  utterly  mistaken.  Every  time  when  I  wiggled  by  bum  off  the  boat,  I  discovered  new  species.  The  adrenaline  rush  from  dangerous  creatures  doodling  passed  me  was  amazing.  Excitement  rose  when  I  got  told  that  I  would  be  diving  at  shark  point.  Who  would  have  thought  that  the  animal  I’m  most  scared  of,  is  the  animal  I  would  kill  to  see.    As  you  can  tell,  I  would  most  defiantly  recommend  achieving  your  diving  license  in  Lomok.  Receiving  the  certification  is  a  lot  of  fun,  but  requires  some  dreadful  hard  work.  The  exam  that  I  had  to  take  to  get  my  license  was  easy,  hence  the  fact  I  studied  for  it.  Once  the  exam  is  over  and  done  with,  the  smell  of  victory  is  near.    After  having  a  breath  taking  underwater  dive  in  the  ocean,  the  only  subject  that  was  on  my  mind  was,  “I  need  a  shower  now!”  I  have  to  admit,

the  one  downfall  of  Lombok  is  the  shower  and  tap  water  is  not  fresh  water  but  salty  water.  Once  I  arrived  at  home,  the  first  thing  I  did  was  sprint  to  the  shower.      Since  diving  is  a  tourist  attraction,  most  of  the  children  that  were  born  and  raised  on  the  island  are  planning  to  open  up  a  dive  centre  or  transportation  business,  as  they  are  more  educated  then  the  rest  of  their  family.  They  understand  that  farming  and  fishing  pay  little  money  therefore  they  want  to  do  these  “big  jobs”.  Once  the  majority  of  the  children  get  drawn  into  the  business  world,  there  are  going  to  be  hardly  anyone  who  will  be  willing  to  do  the  dirty  work  such  as  farming.  Because  of  this,  the  island  will  have  a  very  small  percentage  of  people  to  be  able  to  do  these  jobs  and  this  will  become  a  problem,  explained  Hadri,  a  local  on  the  island.      Diving  in  Lombok  has  showed  me  the  beauty  of  the  underwater  world.  The  excitement  of  glaring  at  the  gorgeous  fish  and  coral  was  overwhelming.  Lombok  is  such  a  magnificent  place  to  get  some  peace  and  quiet.  No  noise,  hooting  cars,  motorbikes,  or  even  high  buildings,  sounds  like  heaven  right?  So,  if  you  looking  for  heaven,  Lombok’s  the  place.
