• 21st century skill integration is not implying we rewrite and revise our entire curriculum, but rather to “simply tweak what we already do and include more of these skills in our lessons and assessments” (Wheatly, et. al., 2010).

• We are going to look at 3 ways to integrate 21st century skills.

• The Partnership for 21st century skills, in conjunction with the National Science Teachers Association and other leading groups for language, arts, geography, social studies, English, and math, have created 21st century skills maps.

As stated by Steven Paine, West Virginia state superintendent, “For a long time, there have been two worlds that we prepare our kids for…, One has been the world of academia, and the other, quite frankly, has been the real world. What I see in 21st century learning is a blending of the two” (Khadroo and Clabaugh, 2009).
