It’s hard to get motivated when the weather is so unpredictable but rough weather can produce some of the best catches. When the sea gets churned up so does the food source, so the fish move in for an easier feed, than burrowing in the sand. This weekend will be rough to start but the weather guru’s say it will improve, so let’s get out there and have a crack. Thanks to all those people that turned up for Bugs and Woody’s farewell the costumes were awesome and we will have another party of the same type in the summer months. This month’s newsletter will be the last from us until we return from Aussie in the middle of August; any queries contact one of the committee members listed in your handbook. I have it on good authority that there are some good JD”s to had from the beach at the moment, so sharpen up those extra skills and start targeting them, points are high for Johnnie’s. Good size snapper and trevally are still being caught and not way down the coast either. If any of you have any tips or tricks of fishing that you would like to share then please see me at the weigh in so it can be shared with everyone. The new handbook is available from Robin in binder form to be inserted into the NZACA manual or a clip if you wish. Your Club ID is a great way to advertise you are a member of this club and some businesses offer a discount to members. All competitions are Open boundaries including Rocks unless stated otherwise and are from 6am Sat to 10am Sun, Final weigh-in 10.30am. Weigh-in at The Range, Golflinks rd unless advised otherwise due to Rain. Usually the weigh-in will be shifted to the Weighmasters house in Kowhai St. if the weather is atrocious. Hello everyone, Have you all had enough of the rain yet, we have!! It’s hard to get motivated when the weather is so unpredictable but rough weather can produce some of the best catches.
