Westwood HouseIt is just over three years ago Andrew and Terri purchased Westwood House, which had previously been utilised for bed and breakfast accommodation. They recognised its potential and, with meticulous attention to detail, it has undergone a total refurbishment and inspirational conversion to become this, three storey, family home. Set well back from the road, bordered by its stone wall, and located along this quiet lane, it is within the small village of Llanddowror. Its striking, elevated position commands a glorious, panoramic outlook over the village and the magnificent surrounding countryside.

Just minutes away from the house is the bustling market town of St Clears where a full range of outstanding amenities are available. The town boasts a host of delightful shops, including prize-winning butchers, pubs and restaurants. The wider area provides opportunities to pursue a host of recreational facilities such as walking and cycling and, being nearby to this exceptional coastline, sailing and other water activities are to be enjoyed.

Westwood House is unique in that its main living space occupies the whole of the upper floor. “We have created an idyllic and luxurious space for our main day to day living. Its contemporary, flexible, layout provides us with the perfect space for relaxation, or sociable entertaining. Our sitting room is full of natural daylight emanating from its large amounts of glazing opening out to Juliet balconies, and affording views over the garden and beyond.

“It was very important to us that our adjoining kitchen/dining space should be practical but family friendly, and have been very happy with the result. Family and friends inevitably gather around the central island, or the table to chat whilst meals are prepared. To enjoy the very best of outdoor living, whether dining or tranquillity, large patio doors open out onto a spacious balcony, which is where, in the summertime, everyone likes to linger late into the evening and savour the outlook. Amazing sunrises or sunsets are to behold.”

“The lower ground floor gives access to yet another spacious reception room, utilised for a variety of family activities, not the least of which is a space which our children make excellent use of when their friends are around.”

“We find this is such a beautiful, convenient, family home from all aspects. The mature garden is extremely private and contains well established trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. It is easy to maintain and also the perfect spot for family BBQs, or just to sit quietly. In addition there is a greenhouse and enclosed storage areas.”

“We will be extremely sad to say goodbye to this amazing house and all its advantages, but we have loved every second of our time here and feel sure that the next family who come to live here with cherish it as much as we have.”*
