weston golden jubilee walk - walkinginherts.co.uk · judith evans’ book weston: ... weston park...

4
NOTES Letters on the map inside refer to the Points of Interest in this leaflet. Numbers on the map refer to the walk instructions. The walk itself is marked with the Weston Golden Jubilee Walk decal, a white crown in a maroon arrow. The walk takes about 2–2½ hours (not allowing for any stops) and is about 6 miles (9.5 km). Times are approximate, walking at normal pace. Stout shoes are recommended, as some parts of the walk can be muddy in winter. There are steps and stiles along this route. Leave all gates as you find them. Keep dogs on leads in fields with livestock; also do not allow them to enter any woodland. Stock up on liquids and sandwiches at the village shop in Post Office Row, opposite the village green! Refreshments en route or at the start and end of the walk can be had at the pubs, The Cricketers, The Red Lion and The Rising Sun. *********** Acknowledgements Judith Evans’ book Weston: A Village Album 1900– 2000 available in the village shop for £9.95, and to the leaflet A Walk in Weston (text by Jean Purchon). Tim Moody for the idea. The Ordnance Survey mapping included within this leaflet is provided by Hertfordshire County Council under licence from the Ordnance Survey in order to fulfil its public function to publicise and promote sustainable visits to the countryside in Hertfordshire. This leaflet has been produced by the Parish Council using a grant from the Parish Paths Partnership Scheme. The Parish Paths Partnership is administered by the Countryside Management Service, and supported by Hertfordshire County Council and the Hertfordshire Association of Local Councils.
