Letter From the President First, I want to thank everyone who attended and participated in the 43nd Annual Meeting last year in Rancho Mirage. Feedback has been very positive, reflecting enthusiasm for the site, the program, the speakers, and the social events. Special thanks to Rick Wiggins, our past President, for his wise counsel to me and ongoing “hands on” leadership. Thanks also to the members of the Executive Committee for all the time and input necessary to make the meeting a success. Congratulations are in order to Dr. Sarah Stilwill, the recipient of the 2011 Gabriel H. Wilson Award for the best paper presentation, entitled “Adult Cystic Fibrosis: Sinonasal CT Findings.” Dr Stilwill’s paper and presentation were outstanding. She presented her paper at the ASNR 50th Annual Meeting in April in New York City. There were a large number of submissions last year, not only from the western region, but from across the nation and internationally. This year, we bid farewell to Judy and Susan Franzblau of Global Events. They have left a legacy of dedicated service to the society, and will be missed. With a vision of moving forward, expanding the society and further improving the planning, organization, and educational value of future Annual Meetings, the Executive Committee is excited to introduce our new meeting management firm, iiCME, Inc. (The International Institute for Continuing Medical Education). Many of you may already be familiar with Randy Ryals and his associates from other meetings. They offer an incredible wealth of experience, having facilitated courses for a number of societies around the world. They also bring a contagious enthusiasm for all aspects of the planning process, and a previously unprecedented networking capability that will enhance the future of our Society. Randy and his associates are anxious to receive your input at http://www.iicme.net. Randy may be reached personally at any time to assist at [email protected]. Planning is ongoing for the 44th Annual Meeting to be held October 19-21 at the Enchantment Resort in Sedona, Arizona. For those of you unfamiliar with Sedona, it is a stunningly beautiful place, unlike any other that I have known. I had the pleasure of scouting out the Enchantment last year during a weekend stay with my wife. Suffice to say it is the nicest resort I have ever been to. John Karis has led a meeting there and I know he would concur. From its location at the foot of an awesome red rock formation and the tasteful architecture of the casitas to the unparalleled reputation of the Mi Amo spa and the signature cuisine of its onsite restaurants, this resort is sure to provide an experience unlike any other you’ve had at the WNRS or any other meeting. My strong suggestion is to set aside an extra day or two at the resort in order to fully capture an unforgettable experience (the Society will also be credited with the additional days and this will help avoid any attrition penalties). For more information on the Resort, visit: http://www.enchantmentresort.com/ Dr. Karis has already assembled an outstanding scientific program that will follow our popular 3-day, morning format, allowing ample time to enjoy the activities at and around the resort and spa. Please plan to attend and begin thinking about a paper or short case report to submit for presentation. As always, if you have fellows or residents at your program, please encourage and mentor them in submitting a scientific paper. We welcome them to become involved with our society. Please also encourage your non-member neuroradiology colleagues to join the WNRS as well. Please come to the WNRS 44th Annual Meeting at the Enchantment Resort. I truly believe it will be the most memorable meeting of the WNRS yet. Save the date now!

Sincerely, Keith E Kortman, MD
