DESCRIPTION

You may be aware that we’ve spent 30 wonderful years working alongside Heineken. And enjoyed every minute. Over that time, we’ve helped transform many breweries and brands into household names with advertising campaigns and strategies that have shaped the sector.

The responsive work on the current John Smith’s website

will be our last for Heineken. After almost three decades

working alongside you and your predecessors at Heineken,

Scottish Courage and S&N, it is with great sadness that

The Foundry says ‘Goodbye – and thanks for 28 years of good work,

good times and good friends’.

THANKYOU

Thanks to all the businesses

From 1987 and the early days of Scottish & Newcastle, working for the On- and Off-Trade for International and S&N Retail out of the offices at Holyrood, Wardieburn House, Northampton, Newcastle, Staines, and the Gyle. Thanks, too, for the work from Corporate and HR.

Thanks to the breweries

Thank you to Matthew Brown, Fountain, Abbey, Theakston, Tadcaster, Federation, The Royal, Tyne, Courage, Newcastle and Bremen for the work through all the years.

Thanks for the packaging

Thank you for huge amounts of packaging design work and NPD for brands such as Kestrel, Tartan, McEwan’s Export and Lager, Foster’s, Coors, Beck’s and John Smith’s.

Thanks for the conferences

From the Christmas events and conferences to the launch of Scottish Courage at the Sheraton Grand, and subsequent national roll-out, thanks for trusting us with such important things.

Thanks for the POS

Thanks for an enormous amount of Point of Sale and sales presentation material for your pubs, retailers, wholesalers and sales force. We came back from POPAI every year with ways to keep you in front and we thank you for your willingness to push the boundaries with us.

Thanks for the awards

Thanks for the international and domestic creative awards we won together, and the boozy nights receiving them. Thanks, too, for the crazy Christmas parties and the nights out with clients who became good friends.

Thanks for the digital adventures

From the beginning of the digital revolution, we both led the field in presenters, sales tools, CDs (remember them?), databases and websites like John Smith’s, Bulmers and The Knowledge. It’s a shame, we would love to have shown you the amazing opportunities that subsequent online channels have given us, such as SEO and PPC, as well as the millions of conversations that we’ve started, joined and contributed to through social media.

Most of all, thanks for the friendship

Working with Heineken has been a privilege. And yes, the outstanding work we made together will live long in the memory. But along the way, we also made many firm and lasting friendships. And maybe – just maybe, that’s actually more important.

(Still thirsty after all these years)
