DESAYUNO DE PANCAKEJoin us for the Feast of Corpus Christi Celebration Mass on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church. Please note this date and time are corrections from our May Newsletter. We'd love to see the pews full again this year. Please spread the word to anyone with historical
ties to the church or school, especially Corpus Christi alumni, faculty and staff. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a procession through the prayer garden (weather permitting). After returning to church for the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, there will be an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast by Chris Cakes in the rectory courtyard. It's a great opportunity to reconnect with current and past parishioners, alumni, faculty and staff. Bring the family, too! This is a joint celebration; therefore, there will be no 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Ladislas on June 23. FROM THE PRIEST:Fr. VinceLove and peace are frequently discussed in social media...and, in the gospel this weekend, we hear about love and peace. Jesus speaks of the love He has for His disciples and of His Father's love to prepare them for His death and Resurrection. He asks them to be faithful to His word and offers them the Holy Spirit to guide them.God's love is real and He made us in love FOR LOVE – to know Him personally and grow in understanding that He loves us deeply, and we need to love Him in return.We know that love through the Holy Spirit that shows us the love of God and also opens our ears to hear the Word of God.Jesus also gives peace as a gift to His disciples. This "peace" that Jesus offers is more than just an absence or an avoidance of trouble. Jesus offers the peace that aims for our highest good and eliminates any fears.The Holy Spirit also helps us receive the gift of peace by strengthening us during our weak moments and gives us the gifts and virtues to live as Jesus' followers.May we never forget we are created in God's love and follow the Holy Spirit to guide us so we may have the true joy and peace that He offers us!• Pray for Pope Francis and all those who lead the Church, especially

• Many have asked about the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord on May 30th, since it is a Holy Day of Obligation- it is, but the diocese has moved the Solemnity to the weekend of June 1-2 so more people may have access to come to the Mass! Please come to Mass that weekend and you're covered!
• The Bishop’s Annual Appeal is still ongoing! As believers, we experience the joy of the Gospel, inspiring us to follow the example of Jesus to love one another. The Appeal gives us the opportunity to support the good works and ministries that bring hope to many of our brothers and sisters throughout the 23 counties of our Diocese, especially in our parish community (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and the Food Pantry)! The goal for Corpus Christi is $12,094 and for St. Ladislas is $19,612. We have pledged $9,031 for Corpus Christi and $6,455.51 for St. Ladislas. There are two things I ask from you- prayers that we may remember God’s love in everything we do and to try to participate – whether it’s a penny or whatever amount, it will help immensely!
• A blessed Memorial Day weekend to all of you! It is important that we practice gratitude toward God, most of all, toward our parents and, in a special way, toward those who have given up their lives to provide for the freedom we enjoy in our country. Let us not only remember those who have died to protect us, but also pray for them to have eternal rest and thank God for their sacrifices. We will have a Mass at St. Ladislas on Monday, May 27th at 9:00 a.m.- the office will be closed.

WEHRLE CLASS OF ‘74 – 45TH REUNIONThe Wehrle Class of 1974 will be celebrating their 45th class reunion on July 13, 2019. The event will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at JP's BBQ – Bolton Field – 2000 Norton Road, Columbus, Ohio. Grads of 1974 are welcome to join us for hors d'oeuvres, a dinner of BBQ pulled pork/grilled chicken breast, au gratin potatoes/tossed salad, soft drinks/coffee. A cash bar will be available. RETIRING BUT NOT LEAVING/RETIRANDO PERO NO SALIR
Effective June 13th, Michael Gray, our Coordinator of Stewardship & Evangelization, will be retiring after five years with our parishes. Mike and wife Betty are parishioners of the St. Ladislas community and will continue membership in the parish. Betty is also retiring from Nationwide Children's Hospital. Mike will retain his role as Southeast Deanery Representative for both parishes and continue his membership on the Stewardship Committee, both on a voluntary basis.A partir del 13 de junio, Michael Gray, nuestro Coordinador de Administración y Evangelización, se retirará después de cinco años con nuestras parroquias. STEWARDSHIP AND EVANGELIZATIONCOORDINATOR OPEN POSITION
The Parish Community of Corpus Christi and St. Ladislas is looking for an Evangelization and Stewardship Coordinator. This position is Part-time. The Evangelization and Stewardship Coordinator will direct the efforts of Corpus Christi and St. Ladislas to impact the South End community by calling people to deepen their faith, readying hearts to welcome Jesus through outreach programs, organizing volunteers, and cultivating discipleship. The Coordinator is a missionary disciple who is charged with forming other missionary disciples. If you are interested in this position, please visit the home page of our parish website for a full list of responsibilities and qualifications. In preparation for the Feast of Corpus Christi, volunteers are needed to help beautify the parish grounds at Corpus on Saturday, June 8 and also Saturday, June 15 from 9:00 a.m.-noon. On June 8, lunch will be provided for all volunteers. We are grateful to members from Edgewood Civic Association
and the group of community-minded attorneys, in conjunction with Keep Columbus Beautiful who will be helping us that day. If you are unable to volunteer and still want to help, consider donating flowers. Annuals, perennials, baskets, singles, or flats will gladly be accepted and appreciated.
