Reflection Today’s Gospel teaches us that the fullness of our communion with God can be achieved through two spiritual laws: first, we must “love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our mind, and with all our strength”; then, we must “love our neighbour as our self.” Jesus himself says that there is no other commandment greater than these. God is Love. Love of God and neighbour go hand in hand. Ladies Twilight Retreat Calling all ladies of the parish! Come and join Deacon Robert Kinghorn this Monday, Nov. 5

will be leading the CWS Ladies Twilight Retreat from 7:30 to 9:00 pm in the Parish hall. The presentation is entitled “The Church on the Street”. For over 12 years Deacon Kinghorn has had a ministry of presence on the streets of downtown Toronto with those who have been pushed to the margins of society through drug use or prostitution. He will talk of how all of us are called to be a light in the darkness of life, and of the deep faith that is often found among the people he meets who struggle to escape the grip of the unholy trinity: addiction, mental disability, and homelessness. Spread the word and invite your friends, family and neighbours to join you. Refreshments will be provided. Portuguese Dinner- Holy Spirit Confraternity The traditional “Matança do Porco” will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 pm in our parish hall. Society of St. Vincent de Paul The SVDP Society will be meeting Wednesday, November 7

th at 7:00 pm in the meeting room. All the

members are kindly asked to be present and anyone interested in being part of our parish social ministry is welcome to attend.

Shepherd’s Trust ...supports the needs of our retired clergy who have served our family of faith, enriching our lives in our own homes, schools, churches, hospitals and other areas of ministry. The idea of the Trust began with a group of lay people who realized the needs of our retired priests an offered their help to establish the Trust as a reflection of the gratitude and appreciation of the parishioners they served. Through your support of the Shepherd’s Trust, our retired priests are given the dignity of adequate pensions, health care and other assistance in their golden years. There will be a special collection on the weekend of November 17 & 18. Special envelopes will be made available. Thank you.

C.W.S Christmas Breakfast & Bazaar Come and enjoy a wonderful breakfast with St. Nicholas on Sunday, Dec. 2

serving pancakes, French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast and refreshments. You can visit with St. Nicholas and have a free photo taken with him. Tickets are $10.00 per person and will be available for purchase after every mass, commencing November 3
