General Transfer Questions

Why did my loan transfer to your company? It is common practice in the mortgage industry for mortgage loan originators and/or investors

to sell or transfer the servicing of a loan. We can assure you, we are one of the top mortgage servicers in the industry and we look forward to having you as an SLS customer.



Are you a debt collection agency? We are considered a third party servicing company. We collect and process payments on

behalf of the investor who owns your note.



Will this transfer affect my credit negatively? No. Your loan will continue to reflect as a mortgage account with the credit bureau agencies.



Can I transfer back to my prior servicer? Your loan can transfer from company to company throughout the lifetime of the loan.



At the time of the transfer, I was in the process of a modification, short sale, or repayment plan. Does this process continue with SLS? Yes. SLS will honor the agreements previously in process and will work with the prior

servicer to continue this process at SLS. If you have any questions please contact our Customer Care Center at 1-800-315-4757.



What should I do if I have a question or dispute? Our Customer Care Center associates can assist you with questions about your loan or

Can I go to a local SLS Branch? No. SLS does not have branch locations. SLS offers online servicing at www.sls.net and our

knowledgeable representative are available to assist you over the phone at 1-800-315-4756. Please contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Payment Questions

I already sent my payment to the prior servicer. What happens to that payment? Your prior servicer will stop accepting your mortgage payment after the effective date of

transfer identified in the service transfer letters. If you have already mailed your payment to your prior servicer and it is received after this date, your prior servicer will forward the payment to SLS for processing.


Payment Questions

I was set up for automatic payments with my prior servicer. Will this continue? No. If your prior servicer automatically drafted your monthly payment from your bank

account, this service will cease unless the Welcome Letter you received from SLS indicates otherwise. You may set up recurring Automatic Payments with SLS either through www.sls.net or by contacting our Customer Care Center at 1-800-315-4757.

Payment Options

Online Online payments are fast and convenient, and payments made during business hours are

posted the same day. Payments can be withdrawn from your bank account. Log in to your SLS account at www.sls.net and select “Make an Online Payment” to process a Western Union® Speedpay® payment. Western Union® may charge a convenience fee for their services.

Western Union® Location Visit the Western Union® office nearest to you to make a Quick Collect®

payment. To locate the Western Union® office nearest you, call 1-800-325-6000.

You will use Specialized Loan Servicing as the “Pay to Name” along with your SLS account number.

PLEASE NOTE – Under no circumstance would Specialized Loan Servicing LLC (“SLS”) re quire borrowers to write

or submit funds to an individual or entity other than SLS. All payments should be made to Specialized Loan Servicing LLC or SLS LLC. If you have received such a request please contact customer care at 1-800-315-4757.


Optional Products Questions

I carried optional insurance (mortgage, life, disability, etc.) through my prior servicer. Will this continue?

No. If your prior servicer provided you with any type of optional insurance, these services will not continue. Please contact your private insurance provider if you wish to retain any of these services.


Insurance Question

Should I tell my homeowner’s insurance that my mortgage loan has transferred?

Yes. Please call your insurance agent to request the mortgage on your insurance policy be changed to identify “Specialized Loan Servicing LLC, its successor and / or assigns” as the mortgagee.
