General Information

• Breakfast in classroom 9:15-9:30• School day 9:30-3:50 (doors open at 9:15)• General daily schedule• Inform office of any changes in students’

bought nut-free treat during lunch time. Parents must be here to distribute during the last ten minutes of lunch: 12:30-12:40.

Report Card

Homework• Homework includes:

– Math Basic Fact Practice- Reading “Just Right” books

every night and completing the Reading Log

- Reading Logs are checked every week and collected every 2 weeksREMINDER: Please encourage independence

while children complete their homework.

Provide support only when needed to avoid frustration.

Math Homework• Development of mathematical fluency• Fluently add and subtract within 20 using

mental strategies. • By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums

of two one-digit numbers. • Homework may come in the form of:

– Games– Math problems or tasks– Math practice

Reading Homework

The goal is to read many books and for longer periods of time.

Read for at least 20 minutes a day Read text at the independent level Read text of different genre including:

Fiction (chapter books and picture books)

Informational text Graphic novels Magazines
