Entries will close on Thursday January 23, 2020 at 9pm or when entry limit is reached, whichever occurs first. Day of Trial Entries will be accepted if the limit has not been reached.

These events are held under the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club.

All fees include HST and are in Canadian funds. A listing fee is payable if a dog has no CKC individual registration number, an ERN, PEN, or CCN.

OBEDIENCE PRIZE LISTAll prizes will be awarded for Qualifying Scores only. Winners must be in attendance to receive their prize or it will be forfeited.

The Highest Qualifying Scoring Dog in each trial (HIT) will be awarded a prize and a rosette. Rosettes will be awarded for the top four qualifying scores in each class. Pre Novice will be awarded a rosette & a prize. A prize will also be awarded for top score in each class.

A “Best in Trial” prize will be given for each trial. The 1st place winners in each of the following classes will be scored separately in a Novice heeling exercise: Novice A, Novice B, Novice C, Open A, Open B, Utility A, Utility B. The winner will be “Best in Trial”.

Breed AwardsAll prizes are for highest qualifying score of the day in each of the following groups:Sporting Group, Working Group, Terrier Group, Hound Group, Toy Group, Herding Group, Non Sporting Group.

High Scoring Veteran (7 years of age or older on the day of the trial) on each day will receive a rosette.

Blanche Cole Award is presented to the High Scoring HDOC Member of the day and will receive a prize.

“Completion of Title” rosettes will be given to all teams who complete a title.

RALLY OBEDIENCE PRIZE LISTAll prizes will be awarded for Qualifying Scores only. Winners must be in attendance to receive their prize or it will be forfeited.Rosettes will be awarded for 1st through 4th qualifying scores in each class. A prize will be awarded for top score in each class.

FOOD BOOTH - A hot lunch and snacks will be available for purchase both days.

REGULATIONS APPLYING TO ALL TRIALS

1. The trial precincts shall be the entire Concession Building.

2. The Show Superintendent has full charge of the show which is governed by CKC rules.

3. Dogs must be kept under control at all times. Only dogs entered in these trials will be permitted in the Trial Buildings.

4. Obedience Rules & Regulations. Chapter 20.7 It shall be the duty and obligation of the trial-giving club to see that a judge, club official, ring steward, volunteer, or competitor at an Obedience or Rally Trial held under these regulations, is not subject to indignities of any kind. The Trial Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of

this regulation, and the CKC shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.

5. BITCHES IN SEASON are not permitted to compete. When a bitch comes into season after entries close, a Veterinarian’s certificate, certifying that the bitch was in season within ten days of the trial, must reach the Trial Secretary on or before the day of the trial, prior to the judging of the class, and the club will refund the entry fees.

6. Non-Member Participation Fee - Canadian Residents only: The CKC has instituted a Non-Member Participation fee for all Canadian residents who participate in a CKC event but are not CKC members. The non-member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non-member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. A non-member who is a resident of Canada is subject to the fee. Dogs co-owned with a CKC member are exempt, as are CKC members.

7. Mix Breeds and Unrecognized Breeds must have a Canine Companion Number (CCN) from the CKC to enter the trials .A dog eligible for a CCN may not be entered as listed.

8. LIMITED ENTRY mean entries will close on the listed closing time or when the Obedience judge’s assignment reaches 7 hours of judging when calculated at a per hour rate of 9 Pre-Novice dogs, 8 Novice dogs, 7 Open dogs and 6 Utility dogs. When Rally judge’s assignment reaches 7hr of judging when calculated based on the judging of a maximum of 15 dogs per hour plus walk through time. (CKC 4.4.2) ‘When the advertised limit has been reached, all remaining entries may be assigned a position (by class) on the reserve list. The person making the entry shall be notified of his position on the list. In the event that the entry of a bitch in season is withdrawn after the closing date, it may be substituted with one from the reserve list up to 24 hours prior to the trial. Fees will not be refunded for any reason other than a bitch being in season and to those on the reserve list who did not participate in the trial.’

9. Hamilton Dog Obedience Club will use care and diligence for the welfare of all dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or other mishap, however caused, to either dog or exhibitor. A dog shall not be touched without permission of the owner or agent.
