Spring Festival

The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people and is when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. All people living away from home go back.

Lantern Festival

The Lantern Festival falls

on the 15th

day of the 1st

lunar month,

usually in February

or March in the Gregorian calendar.

This day's important activity is watching lanterns. "Guessing lantern riddles"is an essential part of the Festival.

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also called the "Yuanxiao Festival

Qingming Festival

The Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival is one of the 24 seasonal division points in China, falling on April 4-6 each year. After the festival, the temperature will rise up and rainfall increases. It is the high time for spring plowing and sowing.

Dragon Boat Festival The Dragon Boat Festival, the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, has a history of more than 2,000 years.

There are many legends about the evolution of the festival, the most popular of which is in commemoration of Qu Yuan (340-278 BC).

Zongzi is an essential food of the Dragon Boat Festival. It is said that people ate them in the Spring and Autumn Period

Every year in September or October, it is celebrated by Chinese people all over the world.
