Homework consists of:– Individualized math timed practice tests (Panther Facts)– Individualized reading and spelling word club levels– Individualized reading book bags– Reading log– Optional computer games and activities– Spelling dictation sentences

Homework is due on Thursdays.

Panther Timed Math TestsThese are a series of math tests that builds fluency

skills.

Lion Cubs This club focuses on addition and subtraction math facts to

20. There are four timed tests.

Tigers Club This is a more advanced club consisting of four timed tests

covering addition, subtraction and multiplication facts ( 2’s, 5’s and 10’s).

200 Word Club WordsThis is a first grade individualized reading and spelling program focusing on common sight

words.

• Our trained parent volunteers run this program.

• Your child’s reading and spelling levels will be recorded each week on their homework cover

sheet.

• For those who enjoy a challenge, we will learn the 400 Word Club words!

Language Arts: Reading, Writing and Spelling Mastery is expected at the end of the year.

Important Highlights: Please send a healthy snack for recess.

Wear comfortable shoes on our P.E. days Mondays, Thursdays, and every other Wednesday.

Homework is important. Please make sure it’s returned on Thursdays.

I have duty immediately after school. I can meet with you afterwards by a prearranged appointment.

Thursday Envelopes: Please read and return the envelopes every Friday.

Dreambox and Tenmarks are two math computer programs that are to you at home.
