Welcome to the round bobbin!

As the old song goes, “Roll out those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer” You know the rest! Summer is the best, and I wish it could last all year long! Things seem to slow down a bit, life gets a little easier, and everything is so ALIVE!! It’s also a great time to take a little time for yourself, and we want you to take some of that time here at the BOBBIN !!! Check out the list of classes we’re offering for your pleasure! There’s a little bit of everything so read on!

AND, in case you haven’t heard, summer is also the time for The Row-by-Row Shop Hop! Don’t know what that is? Read on. Basically, however, it’s a shop hop-type event with no fees or passports. In your summer travels, visit participating shops and receive a free row pattern from each. Combine your rows in any way you like to create your very own UNIQUE quilt! The best part is that there could be prizes involved! Be the first to present your COMPLETED quilt (that means pieced, quilted, binding on and labeled) to a participating shop, and you will receive that shop’s top prize! It’s fun for you and great for shops too! You get to travel with friends and discover new shops, and we get to meet and greet you and make new friends! The hop runs from June 21 through September 8. I guarantee once you start collecting those rows, you won’t be able to stop!!! Have fun with it and safe travels, and please start here at the Round Bobbin!

Don’t miss our Christmas in July event this year! The fabric is already coming in, and we’re busy making samples and kits. This year’s event will be on July 18, so mark you calendars now. Once again, we’ll have demos, some “specials” and a gift basket drawing for one lucky person. Be sure and drop by sometime during the day to drop your name in the box!

As always, there’s lots going on here, lots of new “stuff” arriving daily and lots and lots of laughter and learning. We LOVE sharing it all with you. Stay cool and enjoy and don’t forget to come see us!! Keep stitching and, as usual,

You may register by phone. However, you have one week to bring or mail in your payment in order to confirm your place. You can also call to pay with a credit card number. If mailing a check, please include a SASE if you would like to receive your receipt. Do not send payment without pre-registering.

No class fee will be transferred, credited or refunded later than one week prior to the start of class unless we find someone to take your place in class. While we recognize that situations beyond your control may occur, please do not ask us to make exceptions.

In the event that there are less than three students in a class, the class may be canceled with your class fee being credited or refunded. Please be aware of this policy prior to purchasing your supplies for class.

CLASS PREVIEW PARTY

Our Fall Class Preview Party is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us. As usual, our teachers will present a “mini quilt show” of all the class offerings coming up. Meet and greet the teachers as they introduce their classes and answer any questions you might have. Call now or come in to register your preferred PARTY time!! It’s never too early to reserve your seat!!

However, there will be NO Sit ‘N Sews in July and August.

We will, of course, resume our regular schedule in the Fall.

Sew your rows in any way to create a unique quilt that represents the fun you had traveling throughout the summer

Complete a quilt using at least 8 different 2015 rows from 8 different 2015 participating RxR shops. Be the first to bring your completed (that means quilted, bound and labeled – no exceptions) quilt to a shop to win a prize. Use that shop’s row in your quilt and win a bonus prize!

SQUARE DANCE TABLE RUNNER This one-day class will teach a simple and accurate technique to make Square-in-a square units using a trim down method and the Studio 180 Square Squared Tool. HOT PAD TABLE RUNNERWhat could be more practical than a table runner with hot pads sewn into it? This table runner pattern has three 8” folded star hot pads built into it. The stars are stunning alone, but together they create a 3-dimensional runner that provides protection and charm to your table or buffet. Folded triangles (Prairie points) are added to the ends to coordinate with the stars. Finished size of the table runner pattern is 26” x 64”. Now.....here’s the deal. In this summer class, Susan will guide you in the creation of ONE potholder. You will then have the option of going home and making three more for the table runner or you can stop there. If you love the idea of the table runner, you will sign up for two additional sessions in the fall to put it all together, including instruction in making prairie points. Fabric requirements will be given now for both options, i.e. (1) one hot pad only or (2) the entire table runner. Patterns for both will also be available . It’s your choice, learn the technique and get started on making Christmas or hostess gifts or make three hot pads in anticipation of completing a holiday table runner for yourself!!
