I am very pleased to invite you to participate in the forthcoming 9th Congress of North African and Middle East Chapter International Union of Angiology, organized by our highly estimated colleague and very good friend Professor Emad HUSSEIN in Aswan. Professor HUSSEIN is a prominent member of the IUA and well recognized vascular leader who already organized several successful Chapter Meetings of our Union associating high scientific level presentations with a sense of hospitality and friendship atmosphere. This particular 9th edition will be held in conjunction with the Annual Congresses of the Mediterranean League of Angiology and Vascular Surgery and the Vascular Society of Egypt, which will increase even more its vitality and influence. It is remarkable that this event takes place in Aswan, one of the most famous antique city of Egypt, a place where the spirit blows, and where we all will find good vascular science and build more vascular friendship.

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the XXV Mediterranean Congress of Angiology and Vascular Surgery which will be held in Aswan Egypt February 8th-11th 2017 in conjunction with the 9th Congress of North Africa and Middle East Chapter of IUA and the 13th Annual Conference of the Vascular Society of Egypt. The Chairman of the Organising Committee Prof Emad Hussein is making every effort to organize an excellent scientific program inspite of the global economic crisis and occasional inconveniences at airports and to minimize any security risks in our currently disturbed global situation. On the other hand the three co-joined Congresses will take place under the patronage of the Minister of Health and the Minister of Tourism of Egypt, as well as under the patronage of the Governor of Aswan thus providing an extra convenience and security by the Authorities. It is worthwhile to mention that several years ago Prof Emad Hussein organised another Mediterranean Meeting in Aswan which was extremely successful and left us with wonderful memories. As President of the Mediterranean League of Angiology and Vascular Surgery I would like to congratulate the Organising Committee for providing us with such an environment and such a well-organised Congress; Ladies and Gentlemen, The Mediterranean League of Angiology and Vascular Surgery always provides a unique forum to discuss critical issues concerning the management of vascular patients, has the mission to foster mutual understanding between all professional groups dealing with vascular diseases and tries hard to promote research.
